Title: Surprise chapter 3 (Chap. 1, Chap. 2)
Fandom: Cabin Pressure
Pairing/characters: Martin/OFC, Douglas
Rating: PG
Summary: Martin's got a girlfriend, but it's not going to be easy.
A/N: This is an idea that started eating at my brain and wouldn't/won't stop. Probably one or two parts left (this keeps GROWING) and then maybe a couple one-shots if people are interested. Enjoy!

Title: Surprise chapter 2
Fandom: Cabin Pressure
Pairing/characters: Martin/OFC, Carolyn, Arthur
Rating: PG
Summary: Martin's got a girlfriend, but it's not going to be easy.
A/N: This is an idea that started eating at my brain and wouldn't/won't stop. So, second part. Got at least two more planned out. This one's a bit short, but it felt like the right place to end it.

Title: Surprise

Rating: PG
Summary: Martin's got a girlfriend, but it's not going to be easy.
A/N: This is an idea that started eating at my brain and wouldn't/won't stop. I've got a lot more to this story floating in my head, if there's interest in it. First Cabin Pressure fic, first time I'm creating an OFC, and one of the most dialogue-heavy fics I've every written. *Bites nails*

Happy holidays, everyone. May your days be merry and bright. ♥

Happy Halloween (aka best holiday ever). Have a safe, fun, spooky night everyone! XD

NEW LAYOUT ALERT XD empressaurelius. Simple, sweet, heartbreaking (imo anyway). UPDATE OF SUBSTANCE LATER; off for ranch-flavoured CornNuts and David Tennant's video diaries for season 3 of Doctor Who.

* House was so good last night, lol. Wilson DEFINITELY won. I wish things had gone a little differently of course, but that really goes w/out saying. Overall, another well-written ep. for the season w/ some wonderful H/W interaction; can't ask for more than that really.
* Asked for a promotion @ Crocs; boss told me she'd keep an eye on me and consider it.
* Lots of fun events coming up in my life--overnight party this weekend, one of my favourite relatives' bridal shower and wedding, attending a recording of Conan (assuming he's still on the air and everything by mid-February. Fucking Leno).
* Got up some courage and implied heavily to (now former) cute coworker from Crocs that I'd like to go out. We'll see what he says. Speaking of Crocs, found out that one of my coworkers is also bi; always an awesome thing to discover. XD
* Should be signing my contract w/ GAA this week. I'm eager to see how much money I'm going to get; they keep saying it's not gonna be much, but.

--

* I have a weird sleep pattern going on, and I wish it wouldn't be such a pain to sort it out. Basically, the nights/days I work at Crocs I go to sleep late and wake up late; the days I have my internship, I go to bed early and wake up early--IN THEORY. In reality, the days I have my internship, I hardly get any sleep because I wake up after about only 4 or 5 hours of sleep and can't get back to sleep. It sucks, and as a result I'm ALWAYS drained @ my internship around noon. I know the logical thing to do would be to KEEP the same sleep schedule no matter where I'm working, but the thing is.....there aren't enough hours in the day, and I want to utilize the hours on the nights I can stay up late.
* Boss @ Crocs got into an accident and is gonna be laid up for a few weeks. :/
* No end in sight for the insane level of business/activity that is my life. I hate being this busy; I am NOT this high-energy, lol. I need breaks/time to be mellow.
* I really need my ass kicked re: my diet. I've been comfort eating for nearly a year now and as a result have gained back more than the 20 pounds I'd lost. I need to work on it, but with how little I'm home and how stressed I am, eating healthy is difficult and just....not a priority.

So, I've been kinda falling off the Livejournal wagon, for a few reasons. Facebook and Twitter are of course much easier/faster to use, and I've been really busy what w/ working 6-7 days a week/in a row. That isn't to say that I haven't been keeping up w/ my friends list--I have been, for the most part. I just haven't been commenting as much as I'd like, and overall my whole LJ experience has been suffering.

ANYWAY. My point? I'm going to try to be better about commenting and posting more often, because as fun as FB and Twitter are they don't afford the sort of connection that LJ can. In an effort to make LJ a little more shiny/new/fun for myself I've changed my mood theme, purchased a bit of paid time and extra icon space, and uploaded some new icons. I need to work on tags, and I'd love to have a new header too. *Hint hint to anyone graphically inclined w/ some time on their hands :D*

In other news, shows are slowly but surely starting to come back this week, starting w/ House. \o/ Also, I've been torturing myself enjoying a lot of Doctor Who music vids the last few days and really feeling the angst. There's a big post of thinky-thoughts on the overall series brewing in my head, but who knows if it'll see the light of day.....
