The box fan isn't enough

LiveJournal is the time capsule of my college life. MySpace came and went, and with it was the creation and deletion of two separate profiles with photos, bulletins and wall comments that have now vanished into some database that I'll probably never have access to. Facebook has all of my photo albums, but it doesn't quite capture the nostalgia and nuances like a well thought out LiveJournal post.
Anyway, I live in Boston now. The Nevada Years came to a wonderful close after I decided in March that I would be leaving at the end of May. My final weeks in Reno were spent making wonderful memories with everyone there I deeply love: final road trips, jaunts to the lake, meals at our favorite restaurants and drinks at our favorite bars. I feel like one of the most blessed people on Earth when I reminisce on the years of my life and how every experience and moment has worked together to make me the person that I am today.
This city is a trip. As the unofficial "Capital of New England," Boston's cultural and economic influence reaches to every crevice of the Northeast and the draw and impact that this city has on the entire region is eye-opening. It is too soon to tell how long I will live here. My initial grief and loss from the transition from home had me impulsively believing that I would be moving to California in a year, but I'm trying not to put that type of constraint on myself. Just go with it, enjoy the adventure. After all, isn't that what I've always wanted, a great adventure?
So does anyone think we can bring LiveJournal back? Ha, doubtful. But I was having writing withdrawals so it felt good to summarize my cyclone of thoughts into a few succinct paragraphs.

yesterday i was sitting on the couch at home and i turned to my mom and said
"you want to know something funny? coming home to vegas makes me like reno more."
she knew exactly what i meant.
i mean, only in vegas is it a long-distance relationship if your significant other lives on the "other side of town."
and not to mention stucco, somehow thinking that new color schemes will add something unique and exciting.
oh and those vegas kids. you know what i mean by "those vegas kids."
and the "happening" bar we went to the other night. the one where when you go outside for some air, you're standing in a greasy parking lot along the suicide track that is maryland parkway.
but in "america's adventure place," we leave the bar to get fresh air along one of the cleanest rivers in america, fed by one of the cleanest lakes in the world.
and maybe "those reno kids" have a certain air about them, but they are usually too busy at a house party to really get in anyones way.
i would also admit that although reno doesn't have the world's most incredible and innovative new housing developments, i surely would not use the words "cardboard box" to describe any.
and it's still only fifteen minutes from top to bottom.
so besides the fact that i have to work for the county for a few years after i graduate, i might find myself sticking around for longer than i would have liked to say when i was 18.
