I recently appeared for the TCS Prime interview and am happy to share that I got selected for the Prime profile. I would like to share my interview experience to help future candidates understand the interview pattern and preparation areas.
Eligibility Process:
Before appearing for the interview, candidates must qualify for the TCS National Qualifier Test (NQT). Based on the NQT score, candidates are shortlisted for different categories, such as:
- Ninja
- Digital
- Prime
For NQT, focus on:
- Aptitude & Reasoning
- Basic Programming
- Intermediate DSA (Arrays, Sorting, Searching, Linked List, etc.)
Interview Experience:
The interview lasted around 30-45 minutes and mainly focused on my resume, projects, current work experience, cloud technologies, and fundamental computer science concepts.
The interviewer was friendly and started with basic questions before moving toward technical discussions.

Project Discussion (Most Important)
The interviewer spent a significant amount of time discussing my projects, especially the Arogya Project.

- Project overview
- My contributions
- Challenges faced
- Payment Gateway Integration (PhonePe)
- Security and implementation details
Technical Questions
- What is Cloud Computing?
- AWS experience and cloud services
- Difference between AWS, Azure, and GCP
- What is Machine Learning?
- What is SDLC?
- OOP Concepts in Swift (including Extensions) - As I am working on swift with my current employer.
Coding & SQL
- Linear Search in an Array
- Pattern Printing Question
- Find Nth Highest Salary
- Employees Joined in Last 6 Months
HR Questions
- WFH or WFO preference?
- Comfortable working on Java/Python while currently working in Swift?

Preparation Tips
- Know every point on your resume.
- Prepare your projects thoroughly.
- Revise Arrays, Sorting, Searching, Linked Lists, and SQL basics.
- Have basic knowledge of Cloud Computing and Machine Learning.
- Be ready to explain challenges faced in your projects.
Overall, the interview was largely project-driven and focused on fundamentals rather than advanced coding. If you know your resume and projects well, you can perform confidently.
