WikiConference North America 2026 will take place in Edmonton, Alberta (Canada) on September 25â27, 2026, with the Culture Crawl happening on September 24.
We expect around 250 people to attend. This will include scholarship recipients, guest speakers, and affiliates from across the region. The conference will feature workshops, presentations, and networking opportunities, fostering connections among Wikimedians, educators, and cultural organizations.

History
WikiConference North America User Group was formed in 2016 after that year's conference. It is a recognized Affiliate by the Wikimedia Foundation. The purpose of the User Group is to assure that the experiences gained at one conference are shared with future year conference organizers. The mission of the User Group includes coordinating the planning and hosting of events under our purview.
Additionally, the User Group documents best practices and shares lessons learned with other Wikimedia communities planning and hosting conferences and similar events. From 2020 to 2022, the WikiConference North America were online. We returned in person in 2023 in Toronto, Ontario (Canada).
