Venturer W.H.A.T.

Venturer W.H.A.T. is a camp designed by Venturers for Venturers, or just another excuse to have a good time.
So bring some fun stuff, fun people, and more fun stuff.
W.H.A.T. is being held at Peacehaven Scout Camp on April 21-23/06.
Registration is $15 per person. $5 late fee applies after registration date (we cannot guarantee a camp site for lates).

Each group is asked to bring a nighttime event, and do a skit/song/cheer.
There is a dance on Friday night,
potluck dinner on Saturday,
Trinky, Crab-Wars, Garbage Can Game, the coolest campsite contest (bring cool stuff and decorate!) and other fun stuff. We have lots of events planned; we’re not telling you what they are so you can’t prepare for them. We also have some prizes for each event.
You will need a pair of ‘grubby’ clothes, it’s highly suggested.
SAD rules apply (no sex, drugs or alcohol)

General about Peacehaven:
1) Campers must bring their own water for cooking, cleaning and drinking.
2) Do not bring firewood.
3) Garbage – make sure it goes in bags, and is left at the dumpster. Don’t leave it in outside garbage cans.
4) Fires – only in designated areas, no additional fire pits to be added.
5) No bicycles allowed on campgrounds.
6) The Ranger has to inspect your site before you leave camp on Sunday.

Don’t forget to bring: water, food, and fun stuff

If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact the Camp Chief at lee_macaphearsain@hotmail.com or 519-824-8158

It promises to be a blast. Peacehaven is in Drumbo, Ontario (that's kind of near Cambridge).

Also, because of the set up of the camp, we've decided to go for a "blender camp" type style as to the sleeping/tent arrangements, but Lee can explain that to you should you choose to contact her., which will probably be a good time. As the 1st Guelph Fire Venturers, we are a specialty crew and work with the Fire dept. We have meetings there once a month and learn things about being firefighters.

So far we've reviewed and learned about Haz-mat scenarios, ripped apart multiple cars with the jaws etc, gone through a flaming training house, learned about, set up and used the ladder truck, washed and waxed the trucks, trained for the firefighter games, done search-and-rescue training and ladder training... and probably some things I've forgotten about...

Right now we're trying to set up a Rover crew for myself and a few of the guys for next year. Except instead of working with the fire dept, we're hoping to work with the police dept.

Also, just yesterday we walked from Guelph to Cambridge and back... that's about 7hours or so total. I believe it's over 20km, I don't know how many miles that is though...
