Almost all bimanual robots include wrist cameras. They add bulk, cost, and complexity, but are critical for performance. Are they really needed? Excited to finally share EyeRobot 2.0, where we use active gaze from an ego stereo camera instead 🧵 (with @KushtimusPrime)

Should robots have eyeballs? Human eyes move constantly and use variable resolution to actively gather visual details. In EyeRobot (eyerobot.net) we train a robot eyeball entirely with RL: eye movements emerge from experience driven by task-driven rewards.

Robot See, Robot Do allows you to teach a robot articulated manipulation with just your hands and a phone! RSRD imitates from 1) an object scan and 2) a human demonstration video, reconstructing 3D motion to plan a robot trajectory. robot-see-robot-do.github.io #CoRL2024 (Oral)
