How to turn video enhancements on or off
Video enhancements use smart automation features to enhance your video in different ways. Video enhancements are applicable to both Video and Demand Gen campaigns. Theyâre turned on by default but you can turn them off anytime. To turn them on or off, follow these steps:
Turn on or off video enhancements in Demand Gen campaigns
- Go to Campaigns within the Campaigns menu.
- Hover over an existing Demand Gen campaign and select the gear icon
next to its campaign name.
- Note: If youâre creating a new Demand Gen campaign, follow the steps on how to Create a Demand Gen campaign.
- Select an ad under an ad group.
- On the ad builder page, select Video ad under the âChoose which type of ad to createâ card.
- Youâll find the âVideo enhancementsâ section at the bottom of the âMediaâ card.
- The options âGet vertical and square versions of your videosâ and âGet shorter versions of your videosâ are checked by default. Uncheck to turn it off.
- Select Go to review and review the campaign details.
- If youâre satisfied with the campaign settings, select Publish campaign.
Turn video enhancements in Video campaigns on or off
New Video campaigns
- Go to Campaigns within the Campaigns menu.
- Select the plus button
, then select New Campaign.
- Choose YouTube reach, views, and engagements as your campaign goal. If you donât have a campaign goal in mind, choose Create a campaign without a goalâs guidance.
- Select Video as your campaign type.
- Select Auction on how you want to buy ads.
- Select Video views or Video reach as your campaign subtype, then select Continue.
- In the left-hand panel, select Ads.
- Youâll find the âVideo enhancementsâ at the bottom of the âCreate your video adsâ section.
- The âGet vertical versions of your videosâ checkbox is turned on by default. Uncheck to turn it off.
- If youâre satisfied with the campaign settings, select Create campaign at the bottom of the page.
Existing Video campaigns
- Go to Campaigns within the Campaigns menu.
- In the Campaign table, find and select your Video views campaign.
- In the section menu on the left, select Ads.
- In the Ad table, hover over an ad, then select the pencil icon
next to it. In the dialogue box that opens, select Edit.
- Youâll find the âVideo enhancementsâ at the bottom of the page.
- Check the box next to âGet vertical versions of your videosâ to turn on video enhancements. Uncheck to turn it off.
- When done, select Save ad at the bottom of the page.
Turn video enhancements on or off in Performance Max campaigns
Currently, added voiceover is only available for Performance Max campaigns. If you click on a video thatâs been updated with this feature, youâll be able to preview the voiceover, remove, or delete it.
To turn added voiceover on or off during campaign creation in Google Ads:
- Follow the steps to Create a Performance Max campaign.
- From the âAsset optimizationâ section of campaign creation, open the âVideoâ dropdown.
- Check or uncheck the âEnhancementâ box to turn asset enhancement on or off.
