Early Access Review
I like the game a lot overall but after the initial period of rapid iteration on the bosses they have left Aeon Hourglass in an absolutely horrible state for too long at this point. Every single time we start Act 3 and see this boss we have a collective sigh that this was a fun run until randomly getting an unfun and unbalanced boss at the end. I would rather fight two other Act 3 bosses in a row than one Aeon Hourglass basically regardless of my build.

Yes, it can be beaten. I've beaten it on A10. It's not fun and it's not balanced. It should have been changed or removed at the speed at which they iterated on Doormaker and instead they've just left it here.

A good four hours of co-op with missions split between two large maps for $5. As of the initial release at this price, the game is basically exactly what the store page describes it as upfront.

Online multiplayer worked smoothly. Had a good time playing with checkpoints enabled in the Assist Mode menu. With checkpoints, the game is a good length to be satisfied without overstaying its welcome.

Very good. It reminds me more of Suzerain than Civ.

It was a fun and novel social experience initially but it's become apparent that both a large portion of the player base and the developers simply consider this to be another generic deathmatch shooter. An enormous amount of wasted potential that feels like it pivoted to slop mid-development. I hope that another game comes along some day to refine the glimmers of uniqueness buried in the aggravation of this game. It could have been a social experience with strangers where both cooperation and backstabbing are possible instead of yet another deathmatch game.

It's more Outer Worlds 1 with a new story that has a bit more confidence to make direct parallels to the Fallout series, like radiation being relevant. Thankfully it still follows the New Vegas inspiration, not FO4. I'm enjoying it and if you liked OW1 you will probably enjoy it too.

This is a fun and varied experience in both solo and groups. Recaptures some of the magic of playing Lethal Company for the first time (in a non-derivative way) but with different vibes and gameplay.

Somehow they managed to make this formula work. It's consistently fun with friends and hit-or-miss when queuing with randoms (there is no in-game voice chat). Solo mode is a lot more difficult than the intended three player mode, particularly during boss fights, but it's fine for quickly completing a task for a character quest. The omission of a duo mode is strange: you cannot play with one friend in pure two-player mode, but you can queue with a friend and enter a game matched with one random. (Update: Duo mode is now available.)

An incredible turn-based strategy game with great writing. The story, mechanics, and levels are all well-designed and the characters are compelling. All of the playable characters have unique movesets that interact in interesting ways. This is one of the first games in a while where I was invested enough to care about what happens to the characters after the game ends, which I did not expect from this genre. The mixture of humor, military conflict, and relatable interpersonal conflict is well-balanced.

I bought this two days ago and have already played 10 hours with friends over two nights. Great game, would stay up until 3 AM refining oil to extract sulfur byproducts to make sulfuric acid to mine uranium again.
