Having a teammate makes things much easier.

If your primary focus is just doing PvE then I'd say yes. The solo player has a ton of tools to work with now. A lot of players in the open world will leave you alone for the most part, but I'd recommend you use a microphone or something to negotiate peace. I primarily play the hourglass gamemode now (dedicated queue for PvP), but when I go out on the seas solo I am able to alliance with most players and hide away from players. If you're really scared of PvP you can do quests in the Devils Roar. I have spent hours in the Roar without seeing anyone else. The loot in the roar is "ashen" which basically means you get 50% more XP and gold from selling it.

Judging by your marathon review it won't be worth it, unless you play in safer seas forever where you're the only ship.

No it's not
Takes you less than 30 minutes to find some monkeys chasing you. ESPECIALLY when you're peaceful and solo.

i just started playing not too long ago its pretty fun solo a little more challenging but doable espescially with the sloop. you can always set your adventure to open so other people can join you! hope to see you on the high seas. YARG
