Hades II

GUYS, Give me tips please..
Long story short I played a lot of hades 1. I had on epic, finished a lot of runs mainly using the first, bow and shield..

Never had much problems with it but now I'm getting stomped in this game, I'm on a run 25 and for God sake I only fought cronos 1 time..I have aspects on level 5 for skull, daggers and staff.. melinor aspect I mean, don't have materials for the others yet.

I literally sometimes can't beat Cila hahaha.. sometimes, I must be really bad at this game because or hades 1 was a lot easier than this one.. the fun fact I almost beat phase 1 of cronos and I found that he has a phase 2 right after hahaha.

Is there any way to improve my gameplay or do I have to be patient? On hades 1 I felt that being agresive all the time was key, I could constantly attack and reposition but on this one sometimes I feel that the best course of action is hit and run, do a couple hits and get our and wait a window I don't know. I was so comfortable on the first game being agresive.

I have some arcanas Maxed out. Is there something I'm missing?

I really want to finish at least one run on cronos to feel confident.

P.S:sorry about my English. Not my native language and I'm trying no tonuse a translator so i can practice

Try dagger, Artemis form. It does wonders.
The weapon balance in this installment isn't particularly well-tuned in this game, while they're all viable, Artemis dagger is exceptionally easy to use.

This installment is indeed slightly more difficult than the previous one, though it doesn't rank among the absolute hardest games out there. You can't rely on a "trading hits" strategy; you need to aim for a no-damage run.

Unless you get really lucky and pick up several health-restoring blessings—and manage to boost your max HP above 400—then it might work.

Apollo, Aphrodite, and Ares—these three gods all offer healing Boons. Hephaestus has a Boon that grants bonus armor in every battle.

I don't have the Artemis aspect yet. I'm relying on melinoe since I have only 25 runs yet. Some of those runs were just trying new combinations. I unlocked the surface area a couple runs ago but I'm trying to play the depths for now.

Gameplay wise is hit and run then? I remember using shield on the first game with the Athena boon and hammer that reflect and attacked at the same time and I could stay in the bosses face and I would be ok. With bow too.. but now the only weapon that I can stay a little more close is dagger.

I'm don't wanna drop the game because is so fun but I'm feeling trash at the game hahaha
Hades 1 was harder for me. And the weapons were harder to upgrade.

If you are lazy, just use aspect of anubis and supay. Just spam attack/special and dodge.

Hades 2 does NOT favor aggressive dash-strike moves like Hades 1. Just focus on dodging, staying safe, preserving HP and attack only when there is an opening. Sometimes standing still to attack is better than dashing only to misjudge and getting caught in a kill zone.

Do not use death defiance. Instead focus on building up the STRENGTH arcana card. That's how I got to beat typhon and chronos.
one big tip is ABC: Always Be Casting
Are you using casts and origination at all? If not, that's a massive amount of damage you leave on the table.

Ok I don't know what origination is because of translation here. Gonna look for it. And cast you mean the ring using the button "b" or circle right? The cast I'm using all the time.

Edit: yes I'm using it. The origination arcana. I'm didn't had the opportunity to upgrade.yet because I don't have the resources but I'm using the base version

Origination is the arcana that makes you deal 50% more damage (which is a global modifier, so it's multiplicative) when you apply 2 curses (status effects) from different Olympians. So e.g. scorch + blitz or whatever. Most boons come with a curse, so it's pretty easy to set up and the boost in damage is massive.

Thanks man but that's the deal. I dont have it upgraded yet. I think the materials are from the surface Right? I just did 3 runs there but most of my runs are in the depths

That means you're still new. As you unlock the cards and get better weapon aspects the game becomes better.
Don't eat lint. (Props to Dot Warner.)

Best tip I know =) .

Origination isn't multiplicative. Nothing in the game is multiplicative other than critical hits (triple damage) and double damage "red number" hits, plus Pyro Technique (which multiplicatively increases DPS but doesn't actually affect damage per hit). The 50% damage bonus from Origination means your weapon will deal 50% of its base damage in additional damage, which doesn't interact with any other bonuses you have to weapon damage. If you have a 40 base damage weapon hit, you'll do exactly 20 more damage; if you were doing 150 damage after all your other boosts, you'll now do 170. (It does multiply with Power, though, since Power directly increases base damage.)

Origination is, however, global damage, so it does boost Olympian damage (colored number damage from Blitz, Poseidon waves, etc.), which is generally fairly hard to boost and tends to lead to higher overall damage than stacking weapon damage only.

Anyway, my advice for early runs is to use Demeter's cast to make normal encounters much easier to handle, and look for Zeus as your damage core. Blitz specials are amazing on almost every weapon, and the duos that boost Blitz (like the Zeus/Hestia duo) are quite powerful. Hestia can be a strong damage core too for weapons that are good at attacking repeatedly like the torches, but her damage falls off incredibly hard around the second boss unless you find Pyro Technique; without Pyro Technique (or Freezer Burn, but it's worse due to boss mechanics and being finnicky), Scorch can't actually do more DPS, only stack higher.

Sister blades are pretty a bad weapon; the only good move in their kit is the normal special, although the dash attack becomes amazing with Trick Knives. If you want to play them, understand that any build that attempts to commit to full attack combos to deal damage is a trap; it's not mobile enough or safe enough to avoid being heavily punished. This makes trying to play around hit count bad, but playing around the special for damage (Blitz attack, looking for single hits/dash attack to tag enemies, and Aphrodite special for example) is pretty strong.

Mel Staff is very strong with upgrades (get Dual Moonshot and go wild) and a good cheap investment, as is Circe staff (which doesn't rely on levels, just getting the base aspect). Circe staff requires you to either have Raki or a Toula with maxed out number of attacks to be effective, though. They ask very little to make good builds; play around the many busted hammers like Mirrored Thrasher (+Cardio Gain), Dual Moonshot, Wicked Thrasher, or (a tier down but still good) Shimmering Moonshot.
This dumb game’s only strategy, regardless of weapons and ‘aspects’ is to dodge from AoEs. And bullet-hell to make you panic so you can’t dodge with your pos dash and sit on aoe circles. That’s it. Every boss/room/enemy is the same.

If you wait your turn passively and avoid patiently aoes and bullet vomit you can finally put your feet on the ground to charge, sorry ‘channel’ your whatever passively and patiently and make big damage in this stupid game.
Best advice from me is work on getting Moros's Pin Keepsake and use it to unlock everything else in the game. It will save you more times than you can count.
