Today, I went to pick up the Panasonic electric three-wheeler I had ordered.
The battery had already been fully charged, and the shop owner carefully explained the differences from a two-wheeler. He even let me practice riding it. He also said he would check the air pressure and do a maintenance check once a month. I felt very grateful for that.

The three-wheeler was much heavier than I had imagined.
I learned through experience that it is not something you steer by turning the handlebar.
Even the slightest movement of the handlebar causes the entire vehicle to drift to the right or left.
To move straight ahead, I realized that it is actually important not to move the handlebar.

From there, I headed to the public health office.
I needed to submit a notification for providing home-visit acupuncture and moxibustion treatment.
I showed my license, submitted a copy, filled out the forms, and everything was accepted without issue.

I don’t know whether I will actually practice here.
But for me, it was significant to reach a point where I am officially allowed to do so.
It felt like another milestone had been placed in my new life in Matsuyama.

On the way there, there were downhill stretches, and it felt easier than I had expected.
I even thought, “This might be manageable.”

But on the way back, on the final road leading to Eden, I stopped.

At the hill in Iwaidani.

The road that had been downhill on the way out became a long uphill climb on the way back.
With every meter, the three-wheeler felt heavier.

Eventually, I got off and pushed it uphill.

Breathing hard, gripping the handlebar tightly, pressing my feet into the slope,
I remembered the shop owner’s words:

“Just get used to it.”

I had picked up the three-wheeler, completed the paperwork at the health office,
thought about the Board of Education, and considered which gym to choose.
But what remains most strongly in my memory is the feeling of pushing that bicycle up the hill.

It felt like the true mark of this day.

Someday, I may be able to ride this three-wheeler to work or to the gym,
climbing that hill without thinking.

But today was not that day.

Today was the day I pushed the three-wheeler up the hill.

And I feel that was just right.
