The Electric Tricycle I Imagined — and Me, Right Now May 15(Friday) 2026 R8
I had believed that an electric tricycle would be a stable, easy vehicle to ride.
For someone like me — tall, very thin, easily fatigued — who had felt unsteady on a two-wheeled electric bicycle, swayed by the wind and close to falling, it seemed like the perfect choice.
My husband recommended it, and people around me said, “That would be safer for you,” so I decided to buy one.
But when I actually tried riding it, I found it heavy and difficult to climb hills.
I realized that what I am experiencing now feels very different from what I had imagined.
So I wonder:
Is this truly the nature of the vehicle?
Or is it simply that I have not yet learned how to ride it properly?
If I practice, will there come a day when it feels easy?
I won’t know unless I try.
I ask the shop owner.
I ask ChatGPT.
And in the end, the one who decides is me.
Whether to practice or to stop — that is also my decision.
No one else can ride it for me.
Living alone means facing things like this one by one:
thinking for myself, deciding for myself, and taking action on my own.
That is what I am learning now.
