Authorâs Note:
Welcome to the world of No Land for Kings. This is Chapter 0 (The Prologue). I have written this as an introduction to the history, the lore, and the characters of this kingdom. If the pace feels a bit slow or "laggy" at first, please bear with itâthis foundation is essential to understanding the full story. The narrative will move much faster starting with the next chapter. Thank you for your patience and support !
World Bible :Â
"History is not written in ink, but in land, blood, and the promises of Kings."
Long ago, there were no kingdoms. There were only two great armies. "They both fought for land, later the war ended to peace."
But the truth of that war is a shadow. No one knows exactly what happened, or the real reason why it started. This knowledge is hidden in a "Secret Scripture". Only two people in the entire world are allowed to know the truth: the High King of the North and the High King of the South.
Even when they marry, they do not tell their Queens. When they have children, they do not tell the Princes. Only when an heir is crowned and becomes the King do they receive this secret knowledge. It is a heavy burden, passed from one ruler to the next in total silence.

The North: The Kingdom of Skard-Vale
The North is a world of jagged peaks and deep, misty valleys. It is called 'Skard-Vale' . To keep the peace among his sons, the first Northern King split his land into smaller states. It is a network of family bonds and mountain fortresses, all watching the freezing horizon.
The South: Three Crowns, One Blood
In the South, the land is warmer and richer, but the maps are more complicated.
Kingdom 1: Verdant-Rise. This is the original heart of the South. Its main city, " High-Glen " , sits on a ridge looking over the world. This is where the High King livesâthe only man in the South who holds the Secret Scripture.
Kingdom 2: River-Moot. This kingdom was a gift to a great Warrior. This is the strategic heart of the South. It is a land of winding canals, fertile plains, and rolling hills, all bordered by a 'dense, dark forest' where the shadows seem to move, where the trees grow thick and the air is still. Because it sits at the mouth of the great delta, it is the only opening to the Grey Abyss (The Ocean).
â¢Â The Warden: A man of absolute loyalty, appointed by the Southern King, stands watch at the docks of River-Moot. His eyes never leave the horizon.
Kingdom 3: Canyon-Fell. Born from a royal marriage, this land is Located at the very bottom of the map, this is a rugged, harsh realm. It is defined by **'jagged rocky stones'**, deep valleys, and small, sharp mountains. It is a natural fortress, protecting the Southern flank from whatever might crawl out of the dry wastes.
The Secret of the Shrouded Isle
At the edge of 'River-Moot' , the land opens to the Great Ocean. There is a law here: no one sails past the horizon. Beyond the maps, past the limit where the sea turns from blue to a deathly grey, lies an island that does not exist on any parchment.
  ⢠The Travelerâs Tale :
Centuries ago, a legendary traveler known as Kaelen the Far-Walker sailed further than any man. He returned with a chilling report :  â There is no other land. Only salt, wind, and the Isle.â He spoke of a tribe on that islandâthe Varkasâprimitive, lethal, and ancient. Kaelen was the only one who learned their tongue. He told the Kings that the Varkas do not seek conquest; they are the worldâs silent guardians, protecting the land from " The Threat from Beyond. "
The Forbidden Law :
The two original warrior-kings heard Kaelenâs words and made a blood-oath. They established a 'Maritime Limit' .
â¢Â The Ocean Rule: Any fisherman or sailor who crosses the limit into the deep fog is never seen again. If they manage to turn back, they are executed by the wardens of River-Moot to ensure no one speaks of what they saw.
⢠The Royal Privilege: Only the sitting Kings of the North and South are permitted to sail to the Isle. They go in secret, once every decade, to speak with the tribe and ensure the "Threat" is still contained.
The Logic of the Map:
To the common people, the ocean is a wall of death. To the Kings, the ocean is a gate they must keep locked.
'River-Moot' is the key to that gate.Â
'The Shrouded Isle' is the lock.
'The Varkas Tribe' are the hounds guarding it.
Chapter - 00Â ( prologue)
The Origin - The History
The Annals of the Splintered Crowns
"History is not written in ink, but in land, blood, and the promises of Kings."Â
In the beginning, the world was a study of extremes. There was the iron-cold stillness of the North and the humid, emerald pulse of the South.
The Warriorâs Price: The Birth of River-Moot
In the South, where the air hangs heavy with the scent of rain and damp earth, the 'Kingdom of Verdant-Rise'Â once stood alone. Its hills were rolling waves of green, and its capital, 'High-Glen' , sat perched like a crown upon the highest ridge.
But beauty could not stop the Great War. When the Southern Kingâs strength failed and his lines broke, it was not a prince of the blood who held the passâit was a nameless Warrior. To honor the steel that saved High-Glen, the King performed a surgical act of gratitude. He took the map of Verdant-Rise and split it in two.
He gave the Warrior a crown and the fertile basin where the Great Rivers collide. This became as 'River-Moot' , a kingdom born of gratitude, where the water runs deep and the lords are as unyielding as the silt of the riverbed. The South was no longer oneâit was a partnership of blood and debt.
The Fatherâs Wisdom: The Splintering of Skard-Vale
While the South divided for honor, the North divided for survival. 'Skard-Vale'Â was a realm of jagged needle-peaks and valleys so deep the sun rarely touched the floor. It was a land of bone-chilling mists and ancient pine.
The Northern King, watching the frost creep across his windows, looked at his three sons. He knew that one man sitting in Skard-Vale could not watch three vast, freezing horizons. To prevent his sons from throat-cutting for a single chair, he splintered the North. He turned Skard-Vale into a network of statesâa jagged puzzle of mountain holds and forest manors. One kingdom became many, held together not by a single throne, but by the cold, hard logic of family bonds.
The Union of Two Suns: The Gift of Canyon-Fell
Peace was sealed not by parchment, but by a journey. The Second Son of Skard-Vale, weary of the biting mountain winds, traveled down into the humid, golden heat of the South. He did not find a rival; he found the Younger Daughter of the South.
Their union was the bridge the world neededâthe ice of the North meeting the fire of the South. To solidify this blood-bond, the Southern King reached once more into his maps. He carved away the rugged, rocky depths of his territory and gifted it to the couple.
This became 'Canyon-Fell'Â , a kingdom of deep shadows and towering stone walls. It stands as the third power of the South, a monument to a marriage that changed the world.
The Current Map
The borders are now set. The world is a puzzle of three main powers and a dozen smaller Northern houses:
â¢Â The North kingdom: The splintered, loyalist clans of 'Skard-Vale' .
⢠The South kingdom 1 (The First Crown): The ancient, emerald hills of 'Verdant-Rise' , ruled from 'High-Glen' .
⢠The South kingdom 2 (The Warriorâs Crown): The fertile, strategic waters of 'River-Moot' , ruled from 'Low-Mead' .
⢠The South kingdom 3 (The Unionâs Crown): The shadowed, rocky depths of 'Canyon-Fell' , ruled from 'Tor-Land' .
But in a world where land is the only true currency, the logic of peace is a fragile thing. How long until the hunger for power turns these brothers and allies into ghosts of the past?âŠ.
