If There Were No Darkness in This World — A Picture Book of Hidden Truths —

The poem in this picture book
If there were no darkness in this world,
that war would never have begun.
That crime would never have taken shape.
That sorrow would never have cast its shadow.
Even the idea of "light"
would never have been born.
So there would be no division,
no conflict,
no reason to draw a line between anything.
But in return,
that invention would never have existed.
That art would never have been created.
That task would remain forever unfinished.
And without even chaos to stir it,
the world would have vanished
before it ever had the chance
to flourish.
But you know,
none of that really matters.
Because the most important thing is this:
No one would have had to become
darkness.
For every form of suffering
begins quietly
inside the heart of darkness.
Because—
darkness is never loved.
Not even by itself.
Why?
Because darkness is darkness.
But light is sacred light.
Why?
Because darkness remains darkness.
But light remains holy light.
Why?
Because today is the Day of Light.
And tomorrow shall be the Day of Light.
Why?
Because darkness adores light,
and light adores itself.
The reason is simple:
darkness is ugly, unbeautiful.
Not because light is so beautiful,
but because darkness is too dirty.
Not because light is so good,
but because darkness is too bad.
Always—
darkness becomes the backdrop for light.
Yin to yang.
Negative to positive.
Evil to good.
Despair to hope.
Everything begins with two sides…
So, yes—
darkness is never enough.
Darkness is always “unneeded.”
If the world wished only to survive,
perhaps a world of pure light
would be enough.
Either way,
darkness is no longer wanted.
Because it hurts.
Because it aches.
Because it wounds.
Because it grieves…
If this world had no darkness,
you and I
would not have cried this much.
Would not have wept in secret.
Would not have drifted so close
to thoughts of an ending.
If only—
if only this world had no darkness…
