    アリストテレスは、また、「単に生きるために使う知識と、よく生きるために必要な知識は異なる」とも言ったそうです。
    そして、「生きている間に、たまたま楽しい思いをするといった人たちのすべてが、生を楽しんでいるとは言わない。生きていることそれ自体を楽しんでいる人を、生を楽しんでいるという」のだそうです。
    よく生きるために必要な理知*は「有益なもの」ではなくて、端的に「善いもの」だとも言っています。
    *理知:物事の本質を理解する力

    Chico-chan has a point


    Aristotle also remarks that the kind of knowledge we use simply to get through life is different from the knowledge we need in order to live well.
    And he adds that we couldn’t say someone truly enjoys life merely because they happen to experience pleasant moments while they are alive. Rather, the person who genuinely enjoys life is the one who finds joy in being alive itself.
    He goes on to say that the kind of intellect required for living well is not something “useful” in a practical sense, but something that is, quite simply, good in itself.
    *”intellect” : Ability to grasp the essence of things.
