    (English follows)

For fulfilling life ~ Expressing emotions Ⅱ (2)

    How to process negative emotions

The emotions I feel in the present moment are shaped not only by what is happening to me right now, but also by the long history of my own life (Emotional neuroscience says). My emotions also have my own patterns or tendencies (Developmental psychology/ Narrative psychology/ Attachment Theory says). Even when people go through the same experience, the way they feel can be completely different.
Understanding why I feel the way I do is something best done slowly and quietly, on my own.
Speaking to myself in the mirror, talking to a counselor, or writing in a journal can help me gently sort through what is happening inside.
You have had the experience of feeling just a little lighter after sharing a small part of your feelings with someone you trust, or after embracing yourself to cry as much as it needed.
