テーマ「まっすぐ」

【今日のエッセイ】

夏の終わりの光は、角度を少し落として、まっすぐ差してくるようになりました。

行き先を決めきらないまま、大股で歩き出す人がいます。

その迷いのない足音は、聞いているだけでこちらの背筋まで伸ばしてくれる。

あれもこれもと手を広げた日より、一つに狙いを定めた光のほうが、遠くまで届くのだと思います。

まっすぐは、不器用に見えて、いちばん強い。

【今日の短歌】

迷いなく
一歩を出せば
夏の陽は
まっすぐ影を
前へ伸ばせり

【Today's Essay】

At summer's end, the light drops its angle a little and begins to fall straight.

Someone sets off with long strides, before they have quite decided where to go.

Just hearing those unhesitating footsteps straightens your own back.

A light aimed at a single point reaches farther, I think, than a day spent reaching for everything at once.

Going straight can look clumsy, and yet it is the strongest thing of all.

Without hesitation,
take one step out,
and the summer sun
stretches your shadow
straight out ahead.
