ふたつ、ちょうだい / Two for me, please.
集まりで
大きなお菓子の箱が ひらかれる
「ふたつ、ちょうだい！」
軽やかな声に 笑顔が返る
次の人も
両手を伸ばし
満面の笑みで 受け取っていく
わたしは
ひとつだけ受け取った
お菓子が
特別ほしかったわけではないのに
なぜか
胸が 締めつけられる
夜
鏡の前で
そっと言ってみる
「ふたつ、ちょうだい」
その言葉は
思ったより幼く震えていた
そうか
彼らは
欲しいものを 欲しいと言えるのだ
“自分のぶん以上”を取っても
その場にいていいと
身体のどこかで 知っている
わたしも
少しくらい 欲しがってよかったのかもしれない
ほんとうは
人とのあいだで
もっと自然に
受け取りたかったのかもしれない
’Two for me, please.’
At a gathering,
a large box of sweets is opened.
“Two for me, please.”
A light voice,
smiles exchanged.
The next person too
reaches out with both hands,
receiving with a radiant grin.
I took just one.
It wasn’t that
I especially wanted the sweets.
And yet, somehow,
my chest tightens.
That night,
in front of the mirror,
I softly try to say it:
“Two for me, please.”
The words sounded
more childlike than I expected,
more trembling, too.
Ah.
They know how to say
what they want.
Somewhere in their bodies,
they know
they are allowed to remain there
even after taking
more than their share.
Maybe I, too,
was allowed
to want a little more.
Maybe what I truly wanted
was to receive naturally with others.
