Weekly question #54 Why do you think time management is important?

This is my article about weekly question from 英語手帳 2024. The theme in November is "Time management techniques" （時間管理術）.

Weekly question: Why do you think time management is important?

Time management is important. One reason is that it helps me to finish my task on time. For instance, I try to finish the most urgent task first. Then, I work on other tasks that need to be finished on that day.

Another reason is that I can make spare time for what I want to do. If I finished the tasks effectively by above procedures, I can clean up my desk and organize the documents.

This is my way of finishing my tasks at work. However, this procedure sometimes does not work for my house chores or hobbies. It's probably because nothing is mandatory and I can be just lazy doing nothing.

なぜタイムマネジメントが重要だと思いますか？

タイムマネジメントは、やっぱり大切ですよね。仕事では、優先順位を決めて、動いています。締め切りを守るために、いつも一番急がなきゃいけないことを、先にします。次に、締め切りが早い順からやっていく。特に忙しい日は、締め切り優先に動く方が、逆算して、どれからやればいいか、考えやすくなります。

さらに、一つ一つ終わっていくと、余った時間もできるようになります。慣れない仕事でも、順番にやっていくと、だんだん、テキパキ動けるようになりました。

仕事に対して、私の取り組み方の一例ですが、趣味や家事、普段のこととなると、このやり方が通用しない。

同じようにやれば、できることもあるはずなのに、だらだらやったり、やらないこともあります。二胡を弾くことも、好きだけど、今日は良いやぁって、思うこともあります。試験が終わったから、やりきった感があって、練習時間も短い。集中力が、続かなくて、noteを見に来る時間が増えてます。

noteで書くことにとっては、良いことだぁ。
