衝撃的なニュースが飛び込んできた。

マニがいなくなった。

マニとは、マンチェスターが生んだ、UKグループの番人、THE STONE ROSES(以下ローゼズ)のベーシスト、マニ(ゲイリー・マウントフィールド)のことだ。

バンドの核であり、ローゼズの奇跡的なグルーヴを肉体で体現し続けた男が亡くなってしまった。これは単なる悲劇なんかじゃなく、それは、ロックが持つべき、最も大切な本能がまた一つ失われたという、時代の喪失に他ならない。

Mani — Gary Mounterfield — the bassist of The Stone Roses, the guardian of the UK group born in Manchester.

The man who was the very core of the band, who continued to physically embody the Roses’ miraculous groove, has passed away.
This isn’t just a tragedy. It’s nothing less than the loss of yet another one of rock’s most vital instincts — a loss for the entire era.
