私は、政治家を目指してから、その道を目指す人たちが通るだろう、色々な試練を体験しています。

試練といえば・・・・日本では、境地に立たされたり、行きづまった時など、
「これで君もこの世界の洗礼を受けたな」
と言われます。

私は、
「その言い方は正しいのだろうか？」
と思う時があります。

I have experienced various trials that anyone pursuing this path is likely to face.　

Speaking of such trials—in Japan,
When someone finds themselves in a critical situation or at a dead end, people often say,

"So, you’ve received your baptism into this world."

Sometimes, however, I find myself wondering if that is truly the right way to put it.
