英語の勉強（If you were the king of the world, what would you do to tackle climate change?）

もしも温暖化対策を全部自分の思う通りにできるのだったらどうしますか？
If you had the power to do whatever it takes to tackle global warming, what would you do to solve global warming?

まぁ、ド素人が行うのは危険なので、まず、頭の良い専門家の方々に聞きますね。
I would ask some clever experts for help, as I lack that expertise.

まぁ、聞けなかったら、こうします。
But if I couldn't do that, here is what I would do.

まず、遺伝子組み換えもゲノム編集も禁止です。
研究はしても良いです。
First, I would ban GMOs and genome-edited products, though I would still allow them to be studied in laboratories.

化学肥料も化学農薬も禁止にします。
I would ban chemical fertilizers and pesticides as well.

そして、それぞれの国で自給自足できるようにします。
昔ながらの良い種も自給自足できるようにします。
I would promote total self-sufficiency in each country.
We can become self-sufficient by using traditional, natural seeds from the past.

それぞれの国で環境に良い農業を推進してもらいます。
農家さんが儲かるように、新規就農しやすいようにしましょう。
市民が耕作放棄地を使いやすいようにして、半農半Xを推奨しましょう。
I would promote eco-friendly agriculture in every country.
I would make it easy to start working in the agricultural industry  where people can use sustainable methods and earn a good living.
I would promote the "Half-Farmer, Half-X" lifestyle, so I would need to make it easy for citizens to use abandoned farmland.

森林を破壊するような方法での大規模な畜産業、農業で働いていた方々には、森林を保護する仕事をしてもらいましょう。
以前よりも儲かっていただきましょう。
I would partner with local farmers and landowners currently involved in cattle, soy, and palm oil production, helping them transition into forest conservation.
To make this sustainable, I would ensure they earn a higher, more reliable income by protecting the ecosystem than they did before.

安いお肉が消えます。
There would be no cheap meat in the world.

安い植物油が消えます。
安い油を使う店もなくなります。
安い油を使った加工品も消えます。
There would be no cheap oils in the world.
There would be no cheap shops and restaurants serving food fried in low-quality oils, like palm or GMO-derived oils, nor any cheap processed foods made with them.

安い乳製品が消え、安いお肉、安いお肉を使った製品も消えます。
There would be no cheap dairy, beef, pork, chicken, or processed foods made from them.

乳製品が大好きな方々には、たまに高い製品を購入する生活に変えていただきます。
If you love dairy, you would only be able to occasionally take expensive ones.

お肉が大好きな方々は、たまに、遺伝子組み換え飼料ではなく、（木を切らずに）放牧されて育つ自国の家畜の高級なお肉などを食べていただく生活に変えていただきましょう。
If you love beef, pork, or chicken fed on GMO crops, you would switch to occasionally eating grass-fed, free-range animals instead.

基本的に、動物を食べる回数が減ります。
お魚は天然魚に限ります。
ただし、魚の養殖は再生可能エネルギーを使う限りはOKとした方が良いのかな？
ゲノム編集のお魚はだめです。
Basically, people would reduce their meat consumption.
You could eat only wild-caught fish, or perhaps farm-raised fish raised using green energy.
I would ban genome-edited fish.

木製製品も全て国内で自給自足できるようにします。
どうしてもできない場合は、適度な植林と間伐ができて、なお大丈夫な地域から輸入してもらいます。
As for wood products, each country would become self-sufficient.
If a country's climate makes this impossible, they could import from nations that practice sustainable thinning and planting, and have the capacity to export.

林業は危険を伴う仕事だし、森を守るためにも大事な仕事だから、お給料をもっと上げましょう。
AIやロボットも一部、活用しましょう。
Forestry is sometimes dangerous work, and the people who do it should get paid more money.
I would also promote utilizing AI and robots in forestry where appropriate.

使い捨ては禁止です。
あらゆる製品はリユース、リターナブルになります。
I would ban single-use containers and packaging.
All containers and packaging should become completely reusable and returnable.

使い捨てのコーヒーフィルターやティーバッグなどもなくなります。
使い捨てではないものを使うようになります。
There would be no single-use coffee filters or tea bags.
People would love using eco-friendly reusable coffee filters and more instead.

砂漠化が進む地域で、粘土団子をまきまくります。
ドローンでまきましょう。
全て、その土地の在来の植物です。
I would scatter clay seed balls, like those created by Masanobu Fukuoka, around the world, especially in areas where desertification is progressing.
I would use drones to distribute them.
All seeds used would be native to their original areas.

環境に良い形、無理のない形での、自然エネルギーだけで電力を賄えるようにします。
いろいろな場所で、家以外でも気軽に充電できるようにします。
新たな環境に良いエネルギーの開発なども頑張りましょう。
In a natural, sustainable way, green energy would become widespread.
We would be able to plug in our devices anywhere outside our houses.
I would promote the development of new green energy technologies.

全ての製品は省エネ設計の製品に変わります。
既存の製品を一部改造（？）して利用できたら一番良いですね。
全ての製品は、CO2を出さない製品で、リユース、リサイクルが必須になります。
リサイクルできないものはありません。
ゴミはでません。
そういう方向で、開発を頑張ってもらいましょう。
All products would become highly energy-efficient.
Perhaps simply by upgrading them with new, energy-efficient microchips or parts.
All products would become reusable or recyclable.
There would be no non-recyclable products, and therefore, no trash. To achieve this, I would invest research and development.

伝統工芸などは、大切に守ります。
芸術も推進します。
I would also protect traditional crafts in every region and promote the arts.

著作権違反はAIが検知し、未然に防ぎます。
芸術家やクリエイターを守ります。
AI would detect copyright infringement and crack down on it before it reaches the public.
I would support and nurture artists and creators.

犯罪も未然に防ぎます。
サイバーセキュリティにお金をかけます。
みんながルールを守って、安全に暮らせます。
I would promote the development of systems that prevent all crimes.
Furthermore, I would promote investing a lot of money into cybersecurity.
Everyone would follow the rules, and everyone would live peacefully.

戦争は自然を破壊するので禁止です。
武器は使えなくなります。
War would be banned because it destroys nature, and no one would be allowed to use weapons.

オーバーツーリズムも禁止です。
ゴミも減るし、環境に負荷をかける飛行機を飛ばす頻度も減るでしょう。
I would ban overtourism, which would reduce waste and cut down the number of flights worldwide.

ゴミはロボットが清掃してくれますが、ポイ捨ては禁止です。
高い罰金をとられます。
みんなが平和に暮らすには、ルールを守る必要があります。
Robots would clean the roads, but littering itself would be strictly banned and penalized with high fines.
To live peacefully together, we all need to follow the rules.

不必要に個人情報を提供する必要もありません。
誰からも監視されず、自由に生きることができます。
We would not need to provide our personal data unnecessarily, allowing us to live freely without being tracked by corporations.

世界の1％のお金持ちが、費用は負担してくれます。
GAFAも助けてくれます。
The wealthiest 1% of people would help us, and big tech companies like GAFA would support us.

そうしたら、多分実現できますね。
If that happened, everything would come true.

そんな妄想でした。
But for now, this is all just a fantasy.
