【EN】“The Edgewalker”
【EN】 By Senon Wakamiya
At the edge,
I guard
the hidden demon within.
—
11
Even God
has one weakness.
Unless
you believe in Him,
He cannot move.
12
This soul
needs a love
so overwhelming
that nothing less
could ever save it.
13
The seasons
I endured
never lied.
Yet they fade—
the good,
the bad,
even you.
14
Laughing ourselves silly
over the dumbest things,
then making it home
without a scratch.
Isn’t that enough?
15
If you can’t
push them
out of the ring,
why not
hold them instead?
A forbidden move,
I know.
16
What a narrow road.
Did you see
that oncoming driver?
A face made for murder.
You shouldn’t drive
with killing eyes.
17
The parking space
is far too tight.
All I want
is to pull away—
yet it takes
courage,
and patience.
Just like life.
18
Good for me.
For every piece
of my heart
I’ve had to kill,
I’ll scatter rice cakes
from the rooftop
like a festival.
19
Neither fighting,
nor losing the way—
just someone
standing
at the edge,
watching
the world
drift by.
20
Standing
at the edge.
Neither resisting,
nor surrendering.
Quietly protecting
the hidden demon
within.
