Hello all,
I just started a new weight loss journal (healthy eating and exercise).
Anybody want to be friends? I really need motivation and support, and will be doing the same for you.
Thank you so much <3
Perhaps fitness is something you truly desire but have yet to truly achieve. It may be that you want to dedicate yourself to regular, vigorous exercise, but simply cannot find sufficient time in your schedule to spend doing lengthy workout routines. The result might be... Read more
Almost everyone in the Western world (and it’s growing in the East too, especially in Asia) either has gone on a diet themselves or known someone who has. In other words, weight loss is in everyone’s mind and has been now for decades. Unfortunately, it would appear that certainly in North... Read more
HIIT cardio is the new craze sweeping across gymnasiums in Europe and North America - the reason for this... it's fast, efficient and it works!
High intensity interval training is something that athletes and runners in particular have been well aware of for a long time now. Fartlek training, translated from Swedish is 'speed play' and this has been a popular method of fitness training for runners for... Read More
Millions of people have made transformations in their lives, and one of the more compelling is that of weight loss. If you have managed to work your way down from a great deal of weight to your ideal size, you should be applauded. However, if you're looking at trying to learn how to tighten loose skin after weight loss, that may stay with you after you plummet in size, you'll want to look at several different resources. There is no one answer to this, and while some people will in fact need surgery to correct this, most don't. If you worked hard and did things through... Read More
Liquid diet weight loss is achieved by controlling your calorie intake by restricting what you consume to mostly or, in extreme cases, all liquids. These liquids can be shakes or juices with which you simply replace two or three of your daily meals. Although there are some medically supervised plans available through doctors' offices or hospitals, the majority of... Read More
There are many ways to lose weight. Everybody seems to have their own approach to success. As with any type of way towards success, there are some less ideal approaches. Extreme weight loss methods are methods that focus on often dangerous techniques to drop weight fast. These methods are definitely not recommended. This guide will share with you the methods to avoid. Extreme weight loss methods give you quick weight loss but the loss usually isn't healthy nor is it very helpful if you are trying to get in shape and healthy. The reasons are... Read More
Ok I need a bit of help here. I don't know if any of you remember of me posting several months ago about my periods being extremely long, heavy, and painful. Long being oh you know the basic two month time table, with maybe two weeks off from the sheer torment. Heavy I go through an ultra tampon in about 45 minutes, and the cramps are hell.
I already deal with chronic daily migraines/headaches. So birth control is really out of the question, don't need it anyway. I've not slept with anyone in going on five years (sad right?). Any and all the past birth control pills that I've tried to get to control the periods have triggered even worse migraines.... And I'm not willing to go through and do that to myself because of what I'm already going through.
I'm wanting a partial hysterectomy, or I want the shot that basically puts me through menopause now and stops my periods now no questions asked.
The doctor wanted to put me on depo shots every three months, and pardon me if I've done my research wrong. But isn't the depo shots a form of birth control? Not to mention one of the first things they list as a side effect is migraine with aura, and then as a warning don't take if you have migraines.... Double edged blade here I do believe?
The whole reason for all of this is my genetic markers, and how my hereditary cancer is pretty much a 150% chance of me passing it down to any child I would have. I has nothing to do with the father and how yea it should be 50/50. The women are the carriers, and the kids would get it. I don't want them to go through what I have. I don't want them to have the possibility of the migraines..... I just don't want them to have the health issues that seemed to pass down to both myself and my brother (when Philip was alive). Is that a crime? Is it also a crime that I have no want for a kid unless it is furry and has a tail? The furr-kids are nicer. IMO.
But umm, yea. Is the depo shot another form of a BCP? Cause if it is I know in my heart of hearts that I can't take it because of past experiences.
Help me out if you want. Please with sugar and a cherry?
^^v
Thanks everyone.
Done now. Thanks again

PS- sorry for the rambling, and sorry if you see this more than once.
Now that I've adjusted my schedule since my first daughter just started preschool,
I'm trying to get back into the swing of things.
So for my (super) early runs, I get my Pandora on and head out the door.
The music really helps to pump me up... and wake me up.
But lately it just hasn't been right.
What music do you work out to?
I like pretty much everything as long as it's got a killer beat.
No ColdPlay for exercising!
Help me out and give me your favorites!
Thanks!
So I started motivating my self in working out starting with Wii Fit. Of course it's not like they were intense and I usually tried for 30mins on it. i did mostly the running and hoola hoop with some of the yoga activities.
I started Insanity on Monday. I did a kind of prelude to it on Sat. Anyway, just on the Wiifit alone according to the Wiifit scale, I have gone down 2.7 pounds. 3 pounds is my short term goal and I should be finished it it this week. It is very motivational, since I feel like I am seeing progress but my sister insists I use our digital home scale instead.
I have a suspicion our digital scale has been broken for some time now. My sister likes to think i am in denial and that the digital scale is just giving me numbers i don't like.
I guess from today onward i will try to check both on wiifit and normal scale to see the accuracy of the wiifit and I know to do it I have to do it at the same time everyday.
But I still don't like that scale. My solution or that is to buy a new one... What does everyone think about the wiifit scale vs the digital one?
Should I really buy a new digital scale? I mean I been feeling really good about my self and just good in general since I started being active.
I was doing my grocery when my eyes got caught by an attractively packaged crunchy pork rinds. Used to be able to eat that when I was younger. But not now when I am battling to keep my blood cholesterol and sugar down (borderline). Another temptation was the ice cream section. I was eyeing the section intently looking up the flavors when a merchandiser came and prodded me to buy. I put one quart in my cart and returned it as soon as she turned her back! Game over, I won again.
Wish I could eat about just anything... but I can't. It always comes to this - just staring at the goods!
Went out on the town with friends last night. It was a riot! My coworker took a pic of some of us and I was appalled. That pic did not match the me in my head. Mental me was punk/sexy last night until I saw that pic. Then I just felt normal and fat. My arms need toning (and sliming) and my boobs need to grow (ha!) It's partially camera angle but still...
I've done it all before, calorie counting and exercise, and it is time to do it again. Looking for motivation and just like hearing from other people in the same boat. :)

Hello, everyone! I posted to this community at least 2-3 years ago when I first wanted to get my weight, fitness, and health in order. Well, I'm happy to say that I don't weigh anymore than I did, but I'm not in shape either. As I said then, I'm not unhappy with my body, for the most part, but I want to look more proportionate and be healthy. That's the most important thing. I have enough problems that I don't need to add any weigh-related ones to the list.
So, fast forward to the present. I've been up and down with my diet. One week (or two) I'll eat everything I want without considering how bad it is for me then for a few weeks I'll think before I eat and make better choices. Right now, I am, thankfully, in the habit of watching what goes on my plate. For about two weeks now I've eaten better, with a few indulgences here and there, to try to get myself ready to really buckle down and focus even more and hold myself completely accountable for what I eat.
Yesterday, March 1st, was the official start of me being more diligent. I'm happy with myself for all of the decisions I made today, foodwise, but my numbers and the empty feeling in my stomach have me confused. I ate, in my opinion, very healthy, especially when compared to what I usually ate. I just wrote everything in my food journal and added up my calories for the day. My total was 1546, but I feel like I've barely had anything. It's been maybe two hours since my dinner, and my stomach is already growling. I just can't make sense of it.
Was I eating so many more calories before that 1500 now feels like nothing? I know I had my off days, but I never ate more than one fast food meal and a snack cake in one day. So, how can the healthier meals be leaving me more hungry but with so many calories?
Any advice or thoughts would be so appreciated. As it looks, when I add in my workout, I'm going to be so hungry I'll end up grabbing any and everything I can get my hands on. That certainly wouldn't help anything.
Hey ladies,
back in October I did a 30 day Yoga challenge and promised to post about it, but guess what... I never did.
I completed the challenge, 30 hot classes everyday for 30 days. It was challenging mentally, physically and at times emotionally, but I did it. I found a new appreciation for it, and have since made it a major part of my life. I love how I feel after a hot class ( I did three classes tonight, psycho, I know...) and I love the flow of the classes. I generally do a Vinyasa flow style class, and I love how it makes me feel after. They heat the room up to 105 degrees, which is super hot... I'm considering doing their teachers training in the fall to become an instructor :)
I had gained weight while finishing my final semester in school after my big weight loss of close to 100lbs (I was 240lbs), but I am back to the weight I was in the summer of 2010, which is 155lbs and I'm still trying to get down to 140-145lbs, but I'm in no rush.
Hi everyone! I'm looking to add some friends on my weight loss journey. I was thinking that we could talk about our progress in losing weight or living a healthy lifestyle and encourage each other to stay on track. I will add anybody, though I myself am a 21 year old female who likes to lift weights and run on the treadmill.
It's that time of year when we all start thinking about being healthy again and our New Year's Resolutions, I keep on wanting to type revolutions...lol. Anywho this year I'm going to start exercising. I'm 24 years old, about 5'4"/5'5" and weigh anywhere from 137 to 142 when I've weighed myself in the past few weeks. I would really like to lose about 10 to 15 more pounds. I eat pretty healthy most of the time, but I basically NEVER exercise, so I think the only thing that I can change to help myself lose weight. My problem areas are my big fat gut and my butt. I'd love some exercises that I could do in my room that don't require any equipment. I'm really hoping to get married next fall, so I guess that's my motivation.
