Parrot 0.29.7: every name, one click away
Naming who said what is quicker, on calls of any size.
Everyone on the list. When you name a voice after a call, Parrot lists everyone on the calendar invite with full names, not just the first four. Two people with the same name show their email and are kept as two people.
Join a split speaker. If Parrot split one person into two voices, open one and pick the other's name under In this call. Their lines join up.
Names come back. Names you gave voices on earlier calls, and remembered voices, are offered under From past calls, so you don't type "Mary" every time. Type to narrow the list.
Fixed
- On calls with more than four people on the invite, some couldn't be picked, and long names were cut off.
- Typing in the naming box could go to the search field behind it and filter your meeting list instead.
Thanks to @sebastianarena for the detailed report (#142).

Requires macOS 14 or later on Apple Silicon. Existing installs will offer the update within a day.
Parrot 0.29.6: your words, without the echo
More fixes for echo when you take calls without headphones, and for some of your own lines that went missing.
Fixed
- On speakers, when a few of the other side's words landed inside one of your lines, the whole line stayed, echo and all. Parrot now cuts just the echoed words and keeps yours.
- With Deepgram as your transcription engine, echo on speakers wasn't caught at all. It is now, the same as on-device, and the call screen says when headphones would help.
- The "Polish transcript after each call" setting brought back echo lines that had been left out during the call. It now keeps them out.
- A short word from the other side, like "Yes." or "bye bye", could delete a longer line of yours that contained it, even on headphones. Your line now stays.
- On headphones, one-word replies like "Okay" or "Yeah" were sometimes left out as echo. They now stay unless Parrot has noticed your mic hears the speakers.

Requires macOS 14 or later on Apple Silicon. Existing installs will offer the update within a day.
Parrot 0.29.5: clearer calls on speakers
A fix for echo when you take calls without headphones.
Fixed
- On speakers, echo cancellation barely worked on some calls. Which calls was decided in the first moment of the recording, and on those the other side's voice reached your mic almost untouched and turned into lines under your name. It now takes their voice out on every call we tested: about 30 dB removed, where the bad calls managed 5 to 8. Thanks to @mlnikfreak for the testing and logs in #98.
- When your mic reconnected mid-call (switching input, AirPods dropping), echo cancellation stopped working for the rest of the call. It picks up again right away.
For troubleshooting: the once-a-minute echo line in Parrot's log now also shows how much echo was removed and your mic's input volume.

Requires macOS 14 or later on Apple Silicon. Existing installs will offer the update within a day.
Parrot 0.29.4: steadier mood readings
A fix for the Assistant's gauges.
Fixed
- When the Assistant couldn't judge a gauge yet (like Fit or Buying temp), it wrote 0. On one call that made Fit jump between 0 and 50 for most of an hour, so the report showed turning points and mood-shift tips that never happened. Now a gauge stays empty until something said bears on it, and the mood line and turning points skip those readings. Calls you already recorded keep their old readings.

Requires macOS 14 or later on Apple Silicon. Existing installs will offer the update within a day.
Parrot 0.29.3: Profiles opens again
A fix for the Settings window.
Fixed
- Opening the Profiles page in the Settings window (the one â, or Parrot > SettingsâĶ opens) made Parrot quit. It had done this since 0.28.0. It opens normally now. Settings inside the main window was never affected. Thanks to @brrath for the report and the crash log that pinned it down.
No new permissions or downloads.
Requires macOS 14 or later on Apple Silicon. Existing installs will offer the update within a day.
Parrot 0.29.2: keep Parrot in your menu bar
Parrot can now stay out of your Dock, and the Dock icon opens the window again.
Hide from the Dock. Turn on Hide from the Dock when the window is closed in Settings > General, and Parrot lives in your menu bar whenever its window is closed. Choose Open Parrot there and the window comes back with its Dock icon, so you still have the menus and â-Tab while you use it. Thanks to @jmstacey for asking and @sebastianarena for the +1.
Fixed
- With Parrot's window closed, clicking its Dock icon did nothing. It now opens the window again.
No new permissions or downloads.
Requires macOS 14 or later on Apple Silicon. Existing installs will offer the update within a day.
Parrot 0.29.1: a window that fits your screen again
A fix for the meeting window, and a clearer Detect speakers.
Detect speakers says what it found. After it runs, a short line tells you who it heard, such as "Found 1 voice besides you: Sam". On a call with one other person there is no list of voices to name, so the button used to look like it did nothing. If detection fails, it now says so.
Fixed
- In 0.29.0, the line about the call under a meeting's title could make the window much taller than your screen. You couldn't shrink it or scroll to the end of the report, and if it happened while the Call saved box was open, the box slid off the screen and left the window grayed out. The window fits your screen again, and one that grew too tall shrinks back by itself the next time Parrot opens.

Requires macOS 14 or later on Apple Silicon. Existing installs will offer the update within a day.
Parrot 0.29.0: share the report, and calls that name themselves
Your report now travels as a PDF, every call names itself, and the Assistant has an off switch for when you only need the recording.
Share the report as a PDF. Export Report as PDF in a meeting's Share menu (also File â Export Report (PDF), or right-click the meeting in the sidebar) makes a clean PDF to send your team: who attended, how long, what the call was about, How the call went with its chart and key moments, then the report and coaching. The transcript, your notes and the AI cost stay out. It lands in your Downloads folder.
Calls that name themselves. After a call, Parrot gives the meeting a real title and a line or two about who it was with and what it was about, in larger type at the top. No more opening ten "Meeting Oct 9" calls to find the right one. A title you typed or one from your calendar is kept. Older meetings with a report get theirs the first time you open them.
A note while it's fresh. When a call ends, a Call saved box asks for a Title and a Note. Skip it, or leave the title blank and Parrot names the call itself. Your note shows at the top of the meeting.
An Assistant switch. Sometimes you only need the recording. The Assistant switch at the top of the call screen, or Turn Assistant Off in the menu bar, stops all AI requests on the spot, so nothing more is spent. The transcript keeps going, and the report is still written when the call ends.
One person, one name. Speaker detection sometimes splits one person into two or three speakers. Give them the same name and they now become one person everywhere: the transcript, the talk share and every menu. Older meetings are tidied the same way when you open them.
A shorter Key moments list. How the call went shows the first five moments, with Show all for the rest, and Play turns into Stop while a moment plays. The tips got smarter too: a quick "yeah" or "mhmm" no longer counts as talking over someone, a phrase like "you know" no longer counts as a repeated point, and the first seconds of a call no longer show fake turning points. Older calls get the new rules too; on one real 25-minute call, 59 moments became 14.
Fixed
- A name misheard by speech-to-text could turn into an extra person in the report ("Sandy to send the PDFs"). Reports and Assistant cards now use a name only when it clearly belongs to someone.
- Turning the Assistant off left a request already on its way running, so it could still be billed.
After updating
- Open Parrot once after updating before asking Claude about your meetings. Until then, Claude can't read them.
- The update is one way: an older version of Parrot can't open your meetings afterwards.
No new permissions or downloads. Requires macOS 14 or later on Apple Silicon. Existing installs will offer the update within a day.
Parrot 0.28.3: speakers with the same name, told apart
A small fix for moving lines between speakers.
Fixed
- When two voices had the same name, such as "Mac" and "mac", the transcript's This line is menu showed them as identical items. Those names now show their speaker number too, like "Mac (Speaker 1)", so you can pick the right one.
No new permissions or downloads.
Requires macOS 14 or later on Apple Silicon. Existing installs will offer the update within a day.
Parrot 0.28.2: add the speaker Parrot missed
When Parrot hears fewer people than were on the call, you can now add the missing ones yourself.
New speaker. Speaker detection sometimes hears two people with similar voices as one. Right-click any line in the transcript, choose This line is, then New speakerâĶ. The line moves to a new speaker and you can name them right away. Thanks to @ian-weir for asking for this.
Fixed
- After Detect speakers, a name could stay attached to a speaker that no longer had any lines, and later show up on a different voice. Names now go when their speaker does.
No new permissions or downloads.
Requires macOS 14 or later on Apple Silicon. Existing installs will offer the update within a day.
