SDv2 on Mac M1 Max: TI .pt file creation errors

Trying to sift through a confusing blend of threads and docs to get SDv2 up and running on a macbook M1; I can launch the UI and make images at 768, but when I try to create a new textual inversion embedding, I get a weird mix of errors I'm unsure how to troubleshoot:

The .DSstore errors seem easy enough to sidestep (though annoying); but I'm unsure how to troubleshoot the actual error about the newly-created embedding being corrupt. Advice?
