Simple and beautiful.

I was looking for a desk with these exact dimensions and landed in this one. It has the right amount of space for a dual monitor set up and looks great in my space. My husband put it together for me and said it wasnât terribly difficult but did mention the design of the two strange end pieces to the desk top being unnecessarily complicated. The texture is very smooth all over but the end pieces do have a slightly more smooth finish- not a problem at all and not noticeable unless you are feeling for it. The finish is not real wood, it seems like some sort of large amazing wood finish vinyl sticker but honestly it looks great and keeps this item at a reasonable budget friendly price point.
It is sturdy! It looks great. It is spacious. And I would buy it again. No regrets at all! This hard to find desks like this in stores, I looked at all the stores near me, and none had things like this in the showroom. They can order things like this but at twice the price. This one is all I need.

Summary: Susceptible to water damage. (you can't sit unprotected glasses on it)
Top layer of finish peels off when tape is applied, REALLY easily. I have a tendency to attach pieces of tape temporarily to the edge of a desk when I am taping boxes. If the tape accidentally falls over and attaches to the desk, off comes the finish leaving a white
Design makes it hard to get get your legs underneath. (at least if you need to touch type or possibly sew and you are a plus size, I am size 20.
If you will treat this with care and don't need to sit high relative to the desk. (I'm sitting at 19 inches with 9 inch or so thighs) this might be for you. Frankly, I don't understand why no one else has reported any of these problems. I guess I am harder on my furniture than most. Read on for a more detailed discussion.
Most âfakeâ wood furniture I have owned has been highly resistant to damage. No water rings. No pealing of the upper layer. This particular piece has a weathered look. Very flat and dull looking. Iâm not sure if that is why it is so easily damaged. The first thing I noticed is that the smallest amount of water not only leaves a mark, but also raises the grain. So Now the desk has an irregular surface. You canât really see it because there is a wood grain pattern. If you needed a smooth surface (for example for handwriting, however, it is ruined. The second issue is that adhesive tape will tear off the top surface, showing a white, newspaper like surface. Itâs akin to what happens when you try to remove a label from a cardboard box. I had stuck a piece of packaging tape hanging off the edge while I was wrapping a package. When I went to pull it off it took the surface with it. Never mind the double stick foam tape I had used to hold a power strip in place. That tore nearly the whole side of one leg. If youâre going to buy this treat it like a baby. I donât know, maybe varnishing it would seal it. In any case it wonât take any type of âroughâ (actually not very rough) handling.
Update: Awhile later...Have pulled off several other spots with pieces of tape. Today I realized that I was having trouble adjusting my chair to a proper height for touch typing. As I stacked up books on my existing chair to figure out what height I needed I realized that I couldn't get as far under the desk as I like because my thighs touched the bottom of the desk. Instead of having a flat, relatively thin top, the design of this desk has a fairly tall support piece on the front which prevented my legs from fully sliding in.
