I have noticed this skin has a frustrating habit of putting a different (possibly some default) background on only SOME of the "up to the previous directory" arrows.

I do not really care much for movie/music context specific backgrounds. I like to set one image background for the entirety of Kodi. But this skin (and I want to highlight the next word specifically) RANDOMLY puts in some weird tile image for the back arrow if its under pics and some "Forest Gump" looking image if its under videos. Some back arrows will have the image I setup in the skin setup, as the default (which is what I want). Others will have the weird built in, default image.

Is this a bug and I should just wait until it is fixed?

This happens on 3 different Windows 10 machines, all with completely fresh installs of Kodi 21.3 and Skin version 9.2.5, and in every case it looks to be very random where it happens.

If you can suggest something I can dig into in the XML or skin media directories, I can look into fixing it myself. I have had some experience editing XML in my career.
Kodi v22 (Piers) Pre-release Builds
The Beta 2 pre-release build has become available because we think it is ready for wider testing and usage. It also means we are closer to a stable release of v22.
But clicking the link just shows how to install the latest version. Can anyone help me out with an image for install on a Raspberry Pi 4 for Beta 2?

just started using Kodi on Windows 11 today. I checked out a few themes and I like the default Estuary theme. Just have a few gripes with it that I think should be an easy fix but I can't figure it out. Poked around the forums but didn't find my answer.

1. Just want my Movies (and TV Shows section) to only show all movies in alphabetical order. No recently added, unwatched movies, random movies, in progress movies.
2. I would love if the mouse wheel worked when scrolling through the movie library. Like, it almost does? Moves like a fraction of an inch and then won't go any further, making me have to use my arrow keys instead.
3. The left side panel, I'd rather click the tabs than hover over them. I can do without the list view clicking them brings you to. And hover leads to accidental tab switching too often.

If someone could just help me fix these three things this would be the perfect library.

Thanks

I have 4 Nvidia Shield 2019 Pros in the house, all behaving fine while running beta1. As soon as I upgraded to beta2, which I've done on 3 of the 4, those three all started stuttering and completely freezing after about 90 mins of playback. This seems to be a memory leak, which I've provided debug logs and memdumps for in the github issue linked above.

I was perusing the changelog in the News section and saw ffmpeg got bumped from 8.1.2 to 9.0.1 beteen beta1 and beta2. That's seems like a fairly significant dependency bump this late into the beta cycle, so I was a little surprised to see it but I assume there's a good reason for it? Anyway, that seems like the most likely cause or at least related.

Cheers.

Weird, Kodi has never had a problem detecting and scrapping info for my movies, but some files won't be detected.

- I name my files and folders like this: \Movies\Movie A (1999)\Movie A (1999).mkv
- When I run "update library" I can see that Kodi goes through the Movie A folder, but doesn't stop to import anything. Most other movies are detected.
- I've checked that the name of the movie and its date is the same as TMDB says
- I've even changed the name of the undetected movies (folder and mkv file) to the names of movies that are detected fine, to sort of trick Kodi into importing anything, but it still doesn't see that there's a movie to import
- I've downloaded other copies of the same movies and those are detected and scrapped

Can the problem be on the mkv files themselves? They're regular h264s that play fine on other players.

Thanks for reading me!

First and foremost, I want to express my deepest gratitude and admiration to Team Kodi and every open-source contributor who has built and maintained this absolute masterpiece of media software over the years. Kodi is, without a doubt, the greatest open-source media center on the planet! 🤍
💡 THE STORY: WHY I BUILT THIS
I love Kodi. I have thousands of TV show episodes and movies stored on my local library. But I ran into two big hurdles:
1.
Decision Fatigue ("Choice Paralysis"): I spent 40 minutes scrolling through menus trying to decide what to watch, only to end up not watching anything! I missed the nostalgic, effortless experience of traditional broadcast television—just turning on a TV, hitting Zapping (CH+ / CH-), and instantly tuning into an episode of The Simpsons, Seinfeld, or a Sci-Fi movie.
2.
Hardware Constraints on 2GB RAM Android TVs: I tried the famous Python-based PseudoTV add-ons inside Kodi. While brilliant, running heavy Python script layers inside Kodi on budget Android TV boxes (like 2GB RAM MiBoxes/Google TVs) caused constant memory collapses and crashes.
So as a passionate FOSS enthusiast, I decided to build a native, ultra-lightweight Android app called Tu TV Portátil, which connects directly to your Kodi local library using Kodi's incredible JSON-RPC API!
Because it runs natively in Kotlin and communicates directly via JSON-RPC, it consumes virtually zero CPU/RAM overhead, never crashes on 2GB RAM devices, and streams smoothly on both Android TV (D-Pad remote) and Android Mobile Phones (Touch)!
🔥 KEY FEATURES & BENEFITS
⚡ Instant Live TV Zapping & Channel Guide
•
Instant channel switching (CH+ / CH-) with a real-time smart TV On-Screen Display (channel number, show title, episode number, and progress bar).
•
Dual channel organization modes: Grouped by show or Blended Weighted Round-Robin.
📺 Smart Channel Scheduling
•
Serialized Channels: Sequential series play in strict chronological order so you never lose your place.
•
Episodic Channels: Perfect for sitcoms and cartoons! Random, non-repeating episode selection so you always get a fresh broadcast experience.
•
Movie Channels by Genre: Automated movie broadcasting categorized by genre.
🎬 Embedded LibVLC Video Engine
•
Built on top of native LibVLC with full hardware decoding.
•
Multi-audio track switching (Spanish, English, French, Japanese, etc.).
•
Gesture controls for volume and brightness on mobile.
⏩ Smart Skip Intro & Skip Credits
•
Configurable Skip Intro (auto-skips show intros upon tuning).
•
Auto Skip Credits with a subtle 10-second countdown banner with a one-click "Cancel Skip" button if you want to stay and watch the credits.
⏰ Android Alarm Manager & Schedule Reminders
•
Set weekly broadcast reminders for your favorite series.
•
Tapping the Android notification automatically launches the app and dynamically tunes straight to the channel dedicated to that series!
🎮 Designed for Both Android TV & Mobile
•
100% D-Pad remote navigation for TV screens.
•
Touch-friendly adaptive layout for smartphones.
💖 THANK YOU, TEAM KODI!
This project would not have been possible without the robust, rock-solid Kodi JSON-RPC API. It is a testament to how powerful the Kodi ecosystem is when open-source APIs allow developers to extend the media experience across devices.
Thank you to Team Kodi for keeping independent media freedom alive! 🥂
Feel free to share your thoughts, feedback, or questions below. Long live Kodi and open-source software! 🚀🍿

Hello Everyone,

I have this problem with USB-UIRT IR Recever :

Quote:With Microsoft's deprecation of SHA-1-signed drivers and updates to Windows OS occurring throughout 2026, USB-UIRT installations on Windows will begin to cease to function since Windows will no longer be able to validate older SHA1-signed drivers.

Due to the costs involved in obtaining new signing certificates, we unfortunately do not have plans to issue new Windows drivers for the USB-UIRT.

For existing installations, to maintain functionality of the USB-UIRT after receiving these Windows OS updates, while not generally recommended, you can:

1. Temporarily disable Driver Signature Enforcement (this is a temporary workaround, and will revert on the next boot of the OS)

2. Enable test-signing mode on your PC.

We apologize for the inconvenience. If you wish to contact us directly, please reach out to support@usbuirt.com

I use EventGhost. Do you have an alternative to change the recever with another one working with EventGhost ?
Thanks

I’m not sure if it’s an issue with my computers, but from what I can see, on quite a few skins it looks like the right edge of the posters is cropped by 2px on Kodi 22. At first, I thought it was something with my skin, but I’m seeing a similar issue on the other skins as well. Could someone check?

Hello,

First of all, sorry about my English; it is not my native language.

I have an issue with thumbnail display for my unscraped video files.

This problem occurs in all views (List, Shelf, Wall, Triple, etc.).

I do not have this issue when using another skin, such as Aeon Nox or Amber, so I do not think Kodi itself is the cause.

Just to clarify, I’m having this problem on both my computers (Windows 11)

Thank you in advance for your replies.
