Max Rockatansky on elokuvatekijöiden Byron Kennedyn ja George Millerin luoma kuvitteellinen toimintasankari australialaisessa Mad Max -toimintaelokuvasarjassa. Häntä näyttelee kolmessa ensimmäisessä elokuvassa Mel Gibson ja neljännessä Tom Hardy.[1] Elokuvien lisäksi Rockatansky on pelattava hahmo vuoden 2015 videopelissä Mad Max.
Ihmiskuntaa kohtaan Max osoittaa post-apokalyptisessa maailmassa kyynisyyttä ja toteaa, ettei toivoon kannata luottaa.[2] Arkkityypiltään hän on vastahakoinen sankari: yksinäinen kulkija, joka tahtomattaan päätyy auttamaan hädässä olevia ihmisiä.[3]
