One of the best purchases I've made in a long time. This Bible changes the way I interact with the Word and inspires me to read daily. I love the quotes that are written in the margins. I color them in a different color every time I go back and read the same passage, so over time I'll be able to see what speaks to me in different seasons of my life. I also really like that the margins are large enough to make multiple comments at different times - I don't have to worry that what I write will have to be erased later because I won't have enough room. There's plenty of space for me to interact with the Text throughout the years.

I choose the hardcover version because I knew this is something I'd want to hold onto for years to come and I thought the hardcover version would keep better than the soft. Additionally, I choose the large print because I often read at night and in dim light, small text can be difficult for me to see. I love that they offer the NLT. After a lot of research, and reading multiple versions, I realized that NLT is the most readable and relatable to myself and today's culture, while staying true to the original Greek and Hebrew text. I read multiple passages in different versions and overwhelmingly, NLT stands out to me as the version I can connect best with.

Finally, the beauty of this Bible should definitely be mentioned. The detail in the color - a calming teal-blue with a shimmering title and wonderful floral design on the pages give a hint of it's lovely interior. The pictures inside are amazing! They each have their own personality and makes memorizing Scripture easy when you get to add your own personal touch to such superb artwork! I'm not the best artist so this is perfect for me to enjoy creating appealing art while not having to be overly critical.

Overall this Bible changes the way I:

It has large letters, very beautiful. It does have things to color. It looks exactly like my small one that I have but bigger. I’m in love with it the colors just a little more darker than my smaller one. My small one is like a mint green. this is a darker greenish.

Mine is well-made it came nicely no damages beautiful pictures papers great.

Rec'd this Bible on Sat. as promised. Very Beautiful. I read prior comments regarding coloring, types of mediums to use etc. and decided to buy crayons! no laughing. Although I LOVE the vibrant colors as shown in some of the posted photos, I was concerned about colors bleeding through and did not want the text obscured by them. I thumbed through the Bible and noticed that the INSPIRE illustrations can be seen on the back side of the pages, but I did not find it a big problem. I, like many reviewers, take numerous notes, loading pages up with written notes and stickeys. With this Bible, I will be more selective on what to write, and then use a notebook or journal for additional comments. The pages in INSPIRE are not as thin as other Bibles I have. The first several pages past the hardback cover [and the back cover] are very sturdy and probably could take the gel inks and other vibrant mediums. Beyond that, I can see where inks would probably bleed through. I used Sharpies on the front and back hard covers and there was obviously no problems. FONTS: well... ok. ILLUSTRATIONS: good. It's hard to discern some of them, the squiggleys around the flowers have no definition, and TO ME looked rather hodge podgey but I colored them anyway and was very pleased with the outcome. Now there are flowers that have a noticable outline and you can see that it is a flower, but other areas are not too clear. Leaves, birds and butterfiles are really good. Then there are pages that have abstract type illustrations and I like them very much. CONTENT: you will need a commentary supplement as this Bible does not expound on the scripture. Good binding. I like that the edges are colorful. I was going to use book indexes but did not want to destroy the look of the edges. There are index tabs sold elsewhere that coordinate with this Bible, and they are beautiful. BUT, once you place those things the Bible begins to look kindof busy. So opted not to use. Topic tabs at the top of the Bible would not be too bad, but I would use sparingly so as not to junk up such a beautiful book. The large PRINT is good. I would recommend this Bible for those who doodle and like to ponder over beautiful words and scripture. I like the extra space to write. Be careful not to color more than read! LOL

As much as I depend on reviews for things I purchase online, you'd think I would write them often. I do not, although, I am seriously considering changing that. I first saw the Inspire Bible at Walmart a few days ago. It was the first 'journaling/coloring' Bible I had ever seen so I decided to research a bit. The print in the version I saw was standard, that's why I have almost exclusively purchased everything Kindle so I can enlarge the font. While digging through Amazon reading reviews knowing I wanted this precious volume, I stumbled across this LARGE PRINT version and WHOO HOO... It was available! The first reviews I read about the standard Inspire Bible was a bleed test for markers and pens. God Bless reviewers that take the time to address vital issues. I am totally OCD when it comes to ink bleeding thru pages. Since becoming a coloring book addict, I have also become a conisiour of paper quality and will not purchase a coloring book that 'may' show bleed through onto the next page. Everything I read about this volume in Large Print was centered on paper quality and readability. Suggestions included Gesso (I don't think I'll be doing that... Although it does look like fun!) and I discovered a handy tool called Illustrated Faith-Be Bold Bible Journaling Mat 8.5" x 11" that is perfect to put between pages when coloring. SO... My precious volume arrived today! Everything other reviewers said was so true. The volume is big, not necessarily portable (unless you have a rolling brief case... Like me) and very readable ... Better than I thought! We are all so infused with portability, electronic..... I do miss the feel of a book in my hand. I must confess, however, I did check to see if there was a Kindle version thinking how amazing it would be to be able to color the pages right on my Kindle (Hey, Amazon... 'IDEA')

I remember paying dearly for volumes of this quality. This Bible is priced affordably offering hours of interactive study. No promises but I will try to add pictures to this review after I have colored some of the pages. If you're on a fence about making this purchase... DO IT!

I LOVE this Bible. I love the size of the print - I love the way the Word is laid out on the pages - I love the beautiful design on the edge of the pages when the Book is closed - I love the space on the outside margins for taking notes and for coloring.

I would offer a couple of notes to think about, especially for those who didn't see it in a bookstore prior to purchasing it.

Be aware that this is a large and heavy volume. It isn't necessarily easy to carry around, unless you purchase a good case that has a handle to make it easier to hold this much weight for any length of time. FYI - cases in this size are not easy to come by.

Also be aware that the pages are thin, so I'm not sure I would recommend using colored pens or markers on the pages at all. I believe they would have had to use as thin a page as possible to try to manage the weight of the Book, but that's pure speculation on my part.

But I didn't buy this for using outside the home - I bought it for when I want to dive into the Word and meditate on it a while in a nice, quiet room. This has added a dimension to my special devotional time that I really enjoy a great deal.

I'm new to using colored pencils so I got a set that was affordable and house them in the BTSKY® Portable Canvas Zippered Colored Pencil Case-Super Large Capacity 72 Slot Pencil Bag Pouch for Watercolor Pencils (Blue) , which is nearly the same size as the Bible itself. They're also close enough in color that I'm well pleased to keep them sitting out on the end table near my devotional chair.

I really love this Bible. If you need a more easily-readable font and would enjoy some meditation time and coloring while reflecting on His word, I believe you will love this Bible, too.

BIBLE COVER:

As you can see from the product photo, the bible itself is a beautiful color and has flower-gilded pages. It's really pretty all on its own. Really pleasing to the eye. That said, I'm not a super girly-girl. I like pretty things but not too pretty, if that makes sense. Also, I prefer to carry larger bibles in cases or covers with handles but couldn't find one I liked with this bible's dimensions. So I re-purposed an old purse and made a cover myself. It now looks rough and worn on the outside but still pretty on the inside... Hey, the outward is perishing but the inward is being renewed day by day. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

THE PAGES:

There's a nice combination of larger images and smaller ones to suit your fancy. As well, the lines in the margins are a really great size for note taking. The pages are thick enough to withstand my heavy-handed approach to coloring-- I tend to press down hard with pencils. However, they aren't thick enough to withstand my fine line pens without bleed-through. I'm not interested in prepping each page to be able to paint or use pens on it so I'm happy to just use my Prismacolor Premier pencils. Terrific pencils, by the way. You should get some.

I dig this bible. Totally dig it. MY HUSBAND IS AWESOME.

Fabulous inspiring art work on every page encouraging the readers and viewers! I’ve never seen a bible like this- the word seems to come alive and touch my heart like no book has ever done. A picture is worth a thousand words and these pictures make the scriptures come alive. I encourage you to purchase this bible!

This bible is exactly the same as described. The enlarged verses makes it more interesting to read. The paper quality is good. Although the cover was broken but the bible was safe and undamaged. Ich liebe die Bibel! Hatte mich für die "Large Print" Edition entschieden, da ich bei normalen Bibeln schnell mal Kopfschmerzen bekomme von der kleinen Schrift. Die Schriftgröße hier ist absolut wunderbar!

Das Buch an sich ist ziemlich schwer und groß, es also in den Händen zu halten während man liest ist wohl nur für begrenzte Zeit möglich. Da ich die Bibel aber immer auf dem Tisch liegend lese, um währenddessen Notizen zu machen, ist das kein Problem.

Die Bibel ist perfekt für die, die nicht (so gut) malen können, die aber trotzdem ein paar Illustrationen zwischendurch möchten. Es ist aber immer noch genug Platz, um selbst zu zeichnen und Verse zu illustrieren. Die Zeilen an der Seite sind schön breit, sodass genug Platz zum Schreiben ist.

Die Anmerkungen in der Fußnote sind hilfreich, da sie auf Unterschiede zwischen der NLT Version und anderen hinweisen, oder Vergleiche zu anderen Stellen der Bibel zeigen.

Die Sprache ist relativ einfach, man kann also auch als Nicht-Muttersprachler alles ohne große Probleme verstehen. Die NLT Version ist ja auch eine der einfachsten Bibelübersetzungen ins Englische. Wer mehr nach "Wort-für-Wort" Übersetzungen sucht, der sollte sich wohl eher die ESV oder King James Version anschauen, die dann aber auch dementsprechend schwieriger zu lesen sind.

Ich benutze zum ausmalen der Illustrationen Buntstifte, für Notizen Stabilo Fineliner. Die Fineliner sind minimal auf der nächsten Seite zu sehen, aber das stört mich nicht wirklich. Die Seiten sind etwas dicker als bei herkömmlichen Bibeln, allerdings immer noch relativ dünn. Eine Bible mit dickeren Seiten wird man allerdings wahrscheinlich kaum irgendwo finden, da diese dann einfach zu dick und schwer wäre.

Insgesamt bin ich sehr zufrieden mit der Bibel und bin froh den Großdruck genommen zu haben.

Anmerkung: Die Bibel ist nicht so blau wie auf dem Bild, das Cover geht eher in Richtung türkis.
