seed or fertiliser speader

seed or fertiliser speader
At the time of this review you can buy this seed or fertiliser spreader for around £18, not a bad price, i have seen similar branded versions a lot more expensive at the garden centers this has a simple rotary mechanism, it is however a two handed operation, you turn the handle with your right hand to spin the seed distributor whilst pulling the trigger open with your left hand to allow the seed / fertiliser to drop into the spinner. you can adjust the size of the release hole and a leaflet is enclosed that explains the suggested settings to allow the seed out If you are thinking of buying one i would recommend it, much better than trying to do this by hand. its febnruary now and here in the UK we dont tend to sow grass seed until at keast March sometimes April, to avoid frost which kills the seed I hope the video and this review provides a bit more relevant information and is helpful

Feels solid, don’t overload feed rate

I’ll be open I have not used it yet except to eject lego bricks with the grandson. I purchased it to spread granulated dishwasher salt across a small carpark and pathways. I do believe it will be fine for this application. Has quite a wide range of gap to allow what you put in to be spat out. This could be where some of the negative reviews faltered, feed something too big and too much may jam the mechanism just as the said lego bricks did. With no load the mechanism spins freely and I feel at the right feed rate should work well. The build quality feels great for its price tag. Of course since purchasing the temperature has gone up with no threat of freezing so in my book 17 quid well spent.

Decent tool for spreading seed but when using for fertiliser on the lawn it keeps jamming up ..easy to sort but annoying as stops the steady rhythm needed to dose correctly without overdosing ... When working spread is great and easy to manage ..

Amazing. Incredibly easy to use and did exactly what was required. Weed and feed granules spread in record time. Previously used push along spreader and it was difficult to control flow. This gadget you can control flow and speed easily.

Works great, but keep it at arms length otherwise fertiliser goes all over your feet. Good purchase as lawn feed is evenly spread.
