I have sensitive gums and other toothpastes irritate my gums badly. But this one doesn't bother me at all. Highly recommend it!

What a lifesaver! I seemed to have developed a random allergy to mouth care products recently and couldn't put my finger on the culprit for the life of me, so I was stuck brushing with baking soda and foregoing everything else. No bueno in the long-term, obviously!

For those who might be experiencing something similar, I was developing mouth ulcers on my tongue and the insides of my mouth, and my lips and tongue were burning to the point that I couldn't eat or drink without pain. Eventually I realized that it might be my toothpaste. Sure enough, stopping the toothpaste (yuck, I know) healed my mouth. I went through probably five different toothpaste brands, trying to find the culprit, before I tried this SLS-free brand. Lo and behold, I'm probably two weeks in to a twice a day brushing routine with Verve and no pain! Praise the toothpaste gods.

ABOUT THE ACTUAL PRODUCT:

I really don't understand the negative reviews about consistency and difficulty squeezing. It takes a LITTLE more effort to squeeze the toothpaste out of this tube than, say, a tube of regular Colgate, but it's definitely not the an Olympic test of strength like many are making it out to be. However, it might be a little much for people with severe arthritis or other conditions that limit dexterity/strength/etc.

The consistency is thicker than Colgate, Arm & Hammer, and the like, and it takes a little longer to dissolve in my mouth and get that consistency I'm used to. Doesn't bother me, though.

The taste is great for me. Still minty and fresh but with a little less burning intensity than most mint-flavored pastes.

Leaves my mouth feeling clean and fresh.

I've suffered with severe canker sores my entire life. Once I switched to Verve Ultra toothpaste, the canker sore occurrences dropped substantially. I still get them on occasion but nothing like in the past. This toothpaste is a game changer and has truly improved my quality of life! If you suffer from canker sores too, give this toothpaste a try.

Summary:

Like me, I am sure many of you are here because of frequent canker sores. After my last batch of them I knew I had to do something about them, and I came to this product, as other companies (Toms of Maine) stopped selling them. By the time I received this product, I was in that stage where the canker sore is still there but it is less painful but you know its on the decline. Therefore I am unable to say if it made it go away, however I do feel like it went away faster (Could be a placebo thing). HOWEVER, I can say that since using this product I haven't had another canker sore, but I will update if they ever come back.

So I am sure everyone reading this knows that SLS is what causes the foaming in toothpaste. This is how you can tell this product doesn't have it, as there is no foaming when brushing with it. The texture is like a less viscous lotion that is rubbed on to your teeth as you brush, making you feel like you need more in order to fully feel clean. The taste is a somewhat lessened minty flavor that is odd at first but in the end does allow you to stay refreshed. The tubing is like all the other review say, very difficult to access the toothpaste.

Conclusion:

Although this isn't the most refreshing toothpaste I have ever used and definitely more pricy, I would buy this again if I don't have any canker sores by the end of its use. Everyone who has canker sores knows the agony that these things cause, and although this may not be a perfect solution it does seem to help and I encourage you to try it.

I've used this toothpaste for a few years now. I hardly ever get canker sores anymore where they used to be an annoyance maybe 3-4 times a year. I can bite my cheek and not worry about it turning into an ulcer! I really like that it doesn't get foamy and that the mint taste isn't overwhelming. My boyfriend is put off by the pasty texture but I don't mind it. I will never go back to normal toothpaste lol

This toothpaste doe NOT include SLS. I use it because SLS, the foaming agent in it, might contribute to canker sores in the mouth.

If you are looking for an SLS-free toothpaste, you can't do better than Verve. The price is reasonable for a specialty toothpaste. There's enough foam so you feel like it's working. It has a mild mint flavor that even my granddaughter tolerates. And it performs well at keeping me cavity free with the amount of fluoride it contains. I've been using it for several years and will continue to do so.

There aren't a lot of products that are both SLS free and have fluoride, unless you use Sensodyne or use a fluoride rinse afterwards. This is a nice product without any weird, trendy, or unnecessary ingredients that is great for mouths that have trouble with SLS.

I usually get 4+ cankersvery often (1-2 weeks per month. So far after using this they don't come or if they do they're not nearly as painful (skips the 4+ searing pain days I used to get ehere even water hurts). I can even sneak in a bit of chocolate or candy without getting a mouthful of cankers 1-2 days later. I'm not sure what they do to make it work well but I'll be sticking with this toothpaste for the time being.

My son finds this reduced his canker frequency, and the taste is really good. The price is a little absurd but for now we will stick with it.

such a good toothpaste for those who don’t like sls but still want to include fluoride in their dental routine. tastes just like many popular toothpastes but isn’t spicy like sls would be.
