Apple AirPods Pro 2
Reviewed in Canada on February 12, 2026These arrived well packaged, and quickly.
These are replacing another brand that was reviewed all over Youtube as being just as good as the Airpods....sure they are....sure they are....
We purchased two pairs as our "just as good" units started failing a couple months after owning them. The AirPods arrived, connecting instantly to an iPhone 12, and 14. For over a year now, we have been using these AirPods daily. We can absolutely confirm that the other units were NOT "just as good". There is literally no comparison.
Every detail in the description list for the AirPods delivered an experience beyond our expectation. The AirPodsare simply better than anything else we have ever tried, and we are not huge Apple fans, but you have to give credit when its due. The noise cancelling, brilliant. The sound/audio is incredible. Using them with your phone during calls, likely their best feature.
An example of this, my husband will be working on the ground with the equipment and gear while I operate our Skid Steer (bobcat). We can talk quietly back and forth as he guides me in at the dump sites for perfect drop placement or as he inches me in under a sensitive lift with the fork attachments. We literally talk to each other like the equipment is off, discuss the next step in the job, and ultimately these AirPods allow us to get some much more accomplished in the day with less stress. You won't find Apple pitching that feature, but they should.
These little AirPods do everything, and some much more. Several other companies pitch a similar product, but in the end the user experience is less than you hoped. Worst of all, if you buy the cheaper options like we did, you could have saved that $$, and put it towards a set of these AirPods reducing the overall price, almost like a coupon you didn't realize you had.
Buy once, cry once as they say. Buy these with absolute confidence. Great product

AirPods Pro 2: The Ultimate Wireless Earbuds Just Got Better
Reviewed in Canada on September 7, 2025Apple has truly outdone itself with the AirPods Pro (2nd Generation). From sound quality to smart features, every aspect feels like a meaningful upgrade over the original and easily makes these the best wireless earbuds I’ve ever used.
First off, the sound quality is phenomenal. The improved H2 chip delivers noticeably richer audio with deeper bass and crystal-clear mids and highs. Whether I’m listening to music, podcasts, or taking calls, the clarity and balance are top-tier. Adaptive EQ and Personalized Spatial Audio make everything sound tailored specifically to me.
The Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) is in a league of its own. It's significantly better than the first-gen AirPods Pro, blocking out everything from airplane engine noise to background chatter at a café. And when I need to stay aware, Transparency Mode is more natural than ever—it’s almost like not wearing earbuds at all.
Another game-changer? Battery life. I get up to 6 hours on a single charge with ANC on, and over 30 hours with the case. The new MagSafe charging case now includes a built-in speaker and Find My support, which is incredibly handy if you're prone to misplacing things like I am.
Comfort is still excellent. The updated ear tips (including a new XS size) provide a secure, customizable fit for all-day wear with zero fatigue. And the new touch controls on the stems make adjusting volume, skipping tracks, or answering calls effortless.
If you're in the Apple ecosystem, the seamless integration is unbeatable; quick pairing, automatic switching between devices, and hands-free “Hey Siri” functionality all work flawlessly.
Bottom line: the AirPods Pro 2 are a masterclass in refinement. Whether you’re upgrading from the first-gen or buying your first pair, these are the gold standard for wireless earbuds in 2025.
An easy 5 out of 5 stars.

Small earbuds, pack a BIG punch (in sound, tech, and value)
Reviewed in Canada on March 29, 2025Admittedly, I'm a late adopter of Airpods. I always thought they looked insanely goofy hanging off people's ears. I also remember a love earbuds back in the day just not sitting in my ear right so they would fall out. These new Airpod Pro 2's are simply AMAZING.
After my dog chewed my Bose Sound Sport earbuds (or something similar), I was forced to search for something else. I wanted wireless this time. I researched everything from Shure, Apple, Bose, etc. After seeing these Airpod Pro 2 on sale on Amazon, I figured why the heck not. After all, I read that if you're on iOS user, it's kind of a no-brainer to go with Airpods.
The sound quality is amazing. Everything from EDM, Rock, Alternative, Hip Hop, and the like, sounds well balanced and just enough bass that it's not woofy. The sound clarity for voices on videos (say on Youtube) is crystal clear too. Spatial Audio really is spectacular ... You can turn your head while watching something and the sound/voice stays in front of you as if the person was talking right there. Really an amazing experience if you've never experienced it.
They are INSANELY comfortable. I kept the medium pads on (ones that come equipped on the factory) and they fit like a glove. The comfort may be their only downside - I don't even feel them in my ear so if one fell out I may never know lol.
All of the features are very useful too. When these first arrived, I wore them and played music to test them out for about 90mins around the house. I had "Transparency" mode on and could still hear my kids or wife speaking to me but never interrupting the music in the background. Really thoughtful technology here! The Active Noise Cancellation is quite good too for being small earbuds. They will never be as good as full over-ear headphones for ANC, but they are more than an adequate.
If you're an iOS user, there's really no point looking at anything else. These connect so effortlessly to iOS devices it's laughable.

Reliable, high-quality earbuds with excellent sound and smart features
Reviewed in Canada on December 10, 2025I’ve been using the AirPods Pro 2 daily for over a year, and they continue to perform exceptionally well. The sound quality is impressive across different settings, and I appreciate how smoothly the modes switch depending on the environment. I mostly keep mine on Transparency mode for awareness, but Adaptive mode is a great balance when I want a bit more isolation without feeling completely closed off. Noise Cancellation is also very effective, especially in loud places or while traveling.
One of the things I value most is how well they fit. For me, they sit perfectly in the ear and feel very comfortable to wear even for long periods, which makes daily use easy and enjoyable. The build quality also feels premium and durable; they have fallen a few times and still work flawlessly, which gives me confidence in their resilience.
Battery life is another strong point. A single charge lasts a long time, so I rarely need to worry about recharging throughout the day. The touch controls, like adjusting volume with a simple swipe, are intuitive and convenient, and exploring the available features really helps get the most out of them.
Overall, my experience has been very positive. These earbuds are reliable, comfortable, and deliver excellent performance in sound, battery life, and usability. I confidently recommend them to anyone looking for a high-quality wireless audio option.

Great sound, even better ANC, fits great in my ears for 2-3 hours but maybe not for 7
Reviewed in Canada on December 18, 2024This is my first experience with ANC/noise cancellation, and wow! I am impressed. Took a day or two for my ears to fully get used to the feeling of noise being cancelled out, it felt like a weird pressure in my ear, but after that I am loving the silence. I dont usually like earbuds, and already have bone conduction headphones which are my daily headphones, but having been wearing earplugs for my job a lot recently made me want to spend some money to get some headphones that double as hearing protection (advertised to reduce almost 30dB) AND as open back headphones.
Being able to block out the sounds of loud events I am working while also being able to listen to music at a low comfortable level is wonderful, and the easy access transparency mode is great to have a conversation or still be able to hear your environment with the headphones still in. They are also quite low profile, so as an event worker I often have to put a communication mic/headset on while working, and the Airpods fit perfectly under most over ear headphones, so I can communicate to the team while also listening to my own music.
The one thing I have trouble with is the fit unfortunately. I have always avoided using in-ear monitors/headphones as they don't usually fit/stay in my ears very well, and I'm constantly pushing them back in. After almost a month of use, I can say the Airpods Pro 2's fit well in my ears for the first 2-3 hours or so, but then seem to constantly be pushed out enough to lose their seal and hearing protection benefits. Which is a bit annoying and disappointing, as I was hoping to use them for 6-7 hours at a time - which I recognize is not a normal use case. I did experiment with different sillicon tip sizes that were included, and found the biggest size still seemed too small for me but I think I am in the minority here.
The battery life in the buds themselves are about 7 hours with constant use + ANC, which was also slightly disappointing at first, coming from my Shokz OpenRun bone conduction headphones that can easily last 10-12 hours, but the 18 or so extra hours of battery power in the Airpods Case easily makes up for that. The case charges the Airpods very quickly, so whenever I was working a long day where they were about to die after 7 hours, I just took one out and put it in the case for 10 minutes and had enough charge for the end of my work day, then did the same for the other so I had uninterrupted music throughout the day.

New iPhone used and seriously impressed
Reviewed in Canada on November 25, 2023I was a Samsung android user for about 15 years and finally decided to make the switch to iPhone with the new 15 Pro lineup, as I love my M1 MBP and I have been following Apple products from afar since. Now that the 15 lineup is USB C, I decided to go all in on the Apple ecosystem.
I am blown away by these airpods. Thankfully the second gens come with XS ear tips, because that's the only size that doesn't slowly push themselves out of my ear.
But let me get to what I really love about these things:
- the seamless transfer of connection between my M1 macbook pro and iPhone. It happens in about 1.5 seconds flat as soon as I begin playing audio/video on another device. And somehow it also knows when I don't need it to transfer?! I don't even know.
-the charging speed of the pods themseld. I think I just popped them into the case for 10 mins, less than 15 for sure, and they jumped from 18% charge to 80% just like that.
-transparency and noise cancellation. Remarkable and I use both depending on my environment. Haven't really found a use for Adaptive mode after a while, but that's ok. When you're walking on a busy street, noise cancellation is so soothing. Drowns out like 90-95% of the traffic sounds.
-conversational awareness is great too, but I generally leave it off unless I'm in a grocery store or somewhere that I might need to interrupt the audio by speaking to someone for a few seconds. Only time I use it.
- Con: they're super slippery! I have dropped the pods a couple of times because of this, especially when you get any skin oils on them, but no damage so far. I also just got a silicone cover for the charging case, in hopes that the pods don't just eject themselves when you drop the whole case on the floor. I think that fixed my concern in some quick tests from a 2 foot drop on carpet, because I've seen them eject from that height before.
BONUS: These airpod pro 2s with USB C have a special feature that lightning cable pro 2s do not! Lossless audio, but this only applies to using them with the Vision Pro. I probably won't but the Vision Pro any time soon, but it's good to know that I will have that feature should I ever get them in the future.
Buy these at full price or especially buy them when you see them 10-17% off. You will NOT be disappointed.

HJeffK5 out of 5 starsReally really really good.***Update***
Reviewed in the United States on October 25, 2023I am a rare duck in the tech space as I really don't have a preference between Android and iOS. I have traditionally carried an Android phone and used Apple tablets and laptops. I just honestly find Samsung's innovation in hardware more intriguing. That said, I recently bought a new iPhone 15 Pro for a second phone to leave in my house and saw these new Airpods on sale, so I scooped them. The move to USBC convinced me I need to try both. I have used darn near every credible earbud that has come to market in the last four years. Sony, Bose, B&W, Anker, Apple, Beats, Sennheiser, and many others. I have been chasing the perfect set. I think I found them here or, at the very least, found the closest thing there is to perfection. Here are my thoughts on the new Airpods Pro2:
Sound: This is the one area that they don't win hands down, but they sound great. Many of my buds feature larger more well tuned drivers. Some even have dual drivers. Many have the option to upscale to more lossless sound by using AptX. None of that is here, but what Apple has done with sound is commendable. There is good separation between the highs, mids, and lows. Unlike previous Airpods, these things bring a very solid low end that can rumble a bit. I am not an audiophile, but these sound really good. I still think that the new Sony buds and Sennheiser buds are better but it isn't a landslide. Apple has nailed it with active noise cancelling here as well. While the Bose Quiet Comfort buds are still the GOAT for me, these are at least as good as the runner up from Sony. These block out all but the most sudden noises. Really good all around.
Call quality: These are easily the best there is for calls. It really isn't close. They do an unbelievable job of masking background noise so folks on the other end can hear you. I was on a call with a friend who was using them as well and his son was in the background gaming. He was yelling at the game and, occasionally when he spoke, I could pick up on it a bit, but only when he spoke. The processing here is just so good.
Form Factor: I hate stem style buds generally, but these are solid. They are light and have real balance in the ear. I think because the Pro's have silicone tips they just work better for me. The squeeze functionality makes these so accurate to use when compared to others that rely on tapping and the swipe volume control is really outstanding. For my ears, and this is subjective for sure, these are all day comfortable. You get a solid IP54 water and dust resistance, so these will hold up well in the gym.
Battery Life: These are average in this space when compared with their peers. I am getting about five hours on bud. You get another three to four charges from the case. Many others are better here, but I find battery life to be perfectly acceptable for everyday use.
Intangibles: There are almost too many things to mention here. First, the case is, as always, the best in the business. It is tiny, solid, packs a great battery, and has the most satisfying magnetic click when closing. I love the spatial audio. It is gimmicky but really fun when it is executed properly during a show or movie. The speech detection is amazing. As is the easy pairing and use on the iPhone. Find my buds is the BOMB. There is so much more that I will update later. These are very well thought out.
Conclusion: For me, Apple has crushed it here. Having FINALLY moved to USBC (even if it took the EU to force them) makes all Apple things so much better. These buds might not be the best at much, but they are very good at everything. I can honestly say that these are the best buds on the market. Will I use others for different occasions? Yes, but I doubt that as long as I have an iPhone, I will use many of them often. Buy these now with complete and total confidence. Wow Apple, just wow! Well done!
***Update*** So, I am three weeks in with these and I have a couple of other thoughts I should add. First, the thing that jumps off the page to me is the speaker built into the case. I have owned dozens of buds and this is a first to me. It is awesome. The case chimes when the buds are properly returned to the case. You get a low battery notification and it is also used to “find my AirPods.” It is simply brilliant and an example of how thoughtful some of Apple’s designs are. The case is simply next level and that means more than most people think since you interact with it regularly. The other thing that stands out is how much customization there is and how intuitive it is to set up in your settings. Sony offers similar customization and, in some ways more, but it takes a lot more work. Like I said, there are better options for a lot of things, but the polish and attention to detail here from Apple make these a clear winner overall. If you are on the fence, don’t be. I will update with anything else but these are easily the best all around buds on the market. Buy with confidence

Lexi5 out of 5 starsIf you want a seamless Apple experience, then AirPods Pro are a must.
Reviewed in the United States on December 9, 2023I used to be an AirPods hater and thought they were overpriced. But I bought my first pair in 2019 and have never looked back. I thought they would pretty much be the same but they are actually better in a lot of ways!
The main advantage of AirPods is that they work so seamlessly with other Apple products. So if you don't have an iPhone, I probably wouldn't recommend these. I love how sleek and compact they are because it makes it so easy to carry them with me everywhere. I personally bought an iPhone 15 Pro this year and I HATED that my old AirPods were the only device that I had that used lightning instead of USB C. So I was able to finally get rid of that lightning charger with these new AirPods.
The new AirPods pro also have MUCH BETTER battery life, sound quality, and noise cancellation from the old ones. I don't have to charge them nearly as much and they sound even better than they used to!
They're great for listening to music and taking phone calls (though I sometimes have some friends and family complaining about my call audio when using AirPods.) Being able to have a convenient hands free experience is really important to me.
In the box, you have multiple tip sizes for the AirPods, so if they don't fit well, make sure you try the other tips before returning. I also like that they added a spot to attach a lanyard. I personally am fine with putting them in my pocket, but I know a lot of people could benefit from that.
Here are some cons/things to think about when buying AirPods:
-Buy the AppleCare+ - so worth it. I put mine through the washer once and they replaced the whole set for $30. I also had a battery issue with my old ones once and it was free to replace the case. Basically if you damage them, you pay $30 and if there's no damage, there's no deductible. The Apple Store employee told me that I would have had to pay $90 for ONE PIECE if I didn't have AppleCare so totally worth it!
-If you hate seeing scratches on the white case (not covered by AppleCare) then I would really recommend getting some kind of case. Probably won't do much to protect them, but at least it will keep them looking brand new.
-If you have an older phone that uses lightning, you might want to think about finding one of the older kinds that has the lightning case. I HATED having to use multiple chargers so if you're like me, then you might want to try to buy those instead... But just know that all tech companies are moving to USB C for everything because of an EU mandate.

PedalingAstronomer5 out of 5 starsOther than glaring white, they’re kind of perfect.
Reviewed in the United States on November 5, 2023I’m too old to be one of those guys who wears AirPods everywhere.
I listened to music while I work, and I worked mostly from home, so I was never tempted to be that guy and considered the habit a presumptuous affectation when I’ve encountered others who wore them in public.
And I’ve had other competent noise-cancelling buds and was never tempted to wear those when out. Sure, they made hearing phone conversations easier in noisy environments, but I rarely talked on my phone when in public spaces, because, yeah, that felt presumptuous too.
Then I switched to an iPad Pro-Magic Keyboard combo from a Windows laptop as my primary work device, which convinced me to migrate from Android to an iPhone, so investing in AirPods just made sense, given Apple’s matchless ecosystem integration.
Now, when a call comes in via my iPhone, while I’m working and listening to music on the iPad, I can answer the call from the iPad through the same AirPods with zero effort. I just tap and talk as if the iPhone were in my hand. And I can hear the caller even better with the AirPods than with other buds. Plus, the AirPods’ ANC doesn’t cause the mild sense of pressure the others did.
But that’s not all. The AirPods’ transparency mode is so scary good, I can hear every external sound — especially voices! — better with than without them, and that’s why I’m now tempted to wear them in public and have had to revise my previously negative opinion of others who do.
Oh, and the spatial audio feature? I expected that to be a gimmick, but it’s accurate yet subtle, and having tried it, I no longer use the AirPods without it.
Bottom line: If you see me out and about with AirPods in my ears, I’m not trying to drown you out. I’m trying to hear you better amid whatever cacophony surrounds us. And as with the iPad, having experienced the AirPods Pro 2, there’s no going back.
I’m not an audiophile, so I can’t rate that aspect of the AirPods. I can only report that the base, mids, and highs sound as crisp and clear as through anything else I’ve used. I listen to recordings now that I first experienced in the ‘50s and ‘60s, and I hear elements I couldn’t know existed back in the days of AM radios with mono speakers. The AirPods have been a revelation in that sense, too.
As for fit, I travel by bicycle and now wear the AirPods to better hear turn-by-turn directions (for safety, I keep them in transparency mode when on the bike), but however actively I’m pedaling, I haven’t felt at risk of the AirPods falling out of my ears. Plus, they’re comfortable enough that I can wear them the full ~six hours I pedal each day when traveling.
What would I change? Well, they’re white, and in my perfect world, they’d be the color of darker skin, so the fact that I’m now a guy who wears AirPods in public wouldn’t be so obvious. Tan, brown, or black would be nice options. Otherwise, they’re kind of perfect.
