Costin Chioreanu’s Audial Phantaforms as part of contemporary Hamlet Play

The day of the Sun Eclipse (August 14th) and the opening ceremony of last DBE ritual was one for the books. It was for the very first time when I used publicly my Audial Phantaforms setup, even was not a solo show, I was a musical layer of the HAMLET play, presented by AUALEU collective as a contemporary version of theatre combined with live music. Still I ended up by doing music only by myself for 7 scenes and being part of the whole play till the and, together with these amazing musicians and extremely cool people.

I would like to mention everyone from the line-up, as they were all amazing and we had such a pleasure working with them:

Thank to everyone attending, it was beautiful to see so many people joining this unique event. A special thanks to all my Romanian fans, I saw many of you there, which made me feel happy.

Both me and my beloved Olivia we would like thank Doru Atomei, the Romanian legend behind the Kogaionon magazine and of course Dark Bombastic Evening festival, for the invitation and for his passion embodied in so many iconic events, over the last decades. Hats off for his dream team as well

Being a part of the whole Hamlet play by creating live soundtrack with an amazing line-up featuring 2 iconic Negura Bunget members in a context of a festival held in a Transylvanian star fortress where the ambiance music between events on stage is offering an overall eclectic vibe seasoned with shiny pieces off from Misanthropy records era and that brave late 90’s avant-garde flavor, experiencing all this together with my love and a large part of my fans from Romania, was something for the book of my soul.

Swedish melodic death metal pioneers At The Gates have released their latest studio album “The Ghost of a Future Dead” worldwide this past April via Century Media Records and the album marked a special tribute to frontman Tomas Lindberg, who tragically passed away in September 2025.

As part of the release campaign for “The Ghost of a Future Dead”, longtime At The Gates collaborator Costin Chioreanu prepared a massive conceptual visual storyline which enhances the entire album’s music and lyrics. Having previously already released the animated paintings in videos for the songs “The Dissonant Void” and “In Dark Distortion”, the rest of the videos for the other album songs as well as the “full album video” can now be experienced HERE.

Costin Chioreanu, who handled the painting, filming, editing and producing the project, checked in with the following comment about it: “This is by far the most intense project I’ve done, not only due the circumstances but also because the album is so intense and it requires an insane rhythm for the whole dynamic. It is also the first time that I am doing a full album art video and, honestly, I think it will remain singular of this kind in my career, as I’ve been over several of my limits with this one. But I am so happy that I could finish this monument for my friend Tomas and for his magical band, who will remain with my heart and my memory till the end of my time here and beyond.”
