Unemployment rate lower than in the previous quarter
In this year’s second quarter, there were fewer unemployed persons and more employed than in the first quarter. Among the latter, a tenth were in part-time employment, almost two thirds of them women.

Average earnings higher at the monthly and semi-annual levels
Average gross earnings for June were higher than earnings for May – in nominal terms by 2.6% and in real terms by 1.8%. Average monthly gross earnings for the 1st half of 2026 were also higher than earnings for the same period of last year.

Producer prices still rising
Producer prices were higher in July, too; monthly by 0.7% and annually by 3.4%. At annual level, prices have been increasing for a year and a half.

More building permits issued and more dwellings planned than in the previous month
In July, a fifth more building permits were issued than in the previous month: for residential buildings 4% and for non-residential buildings about a third more. Compared to June, 17% more dwellings were planned.

Prices of construction services up again
Compared to the first quarter of 2026, construction services were on average 1.7% more expensive, while compared to a year ago prices went up by 8.6%.

Services producer prices up again
In the 2nd quarter of this year, services producer prices were higher at both levels – by 1.7% at the quarterly level and by 4.4% at the annual level.

More persons in employment in June, the number of foreign citizens among them continues to rise
In June, the number of persons in employment increased by 0.1% to 941,800. Their number grew in more than half of the sections of activities, most notably in accommodation and food service activities. The share of foreign citizens in employment (excluding farmers) rose to 16.5%.

Agricultural input prices down only month-on-month
Agricultural input prices slightly decreased at the monthly level, while they were up year-on-year and at the quarterly level. In the monthly comparison, the prices of energy and lubricants went down the most.

The value of purchased roundwood down
The total value of roundwood purchased from private forests in June decreased by 3.2% annually and by 30.6% in the monthly comparison.

Producer prices of agricultural products 6.9% lower year-on-year
Producer prices of agricultural products were 6.9% lower than in June last year, whereas the value of purchased agricultural products decreased by 1.9%.
