It’s Clean and Simple Week at The Paper Players, hosted by the incredible Christy. What a fun and sweet theme she has for us: Bears. Now I will admit that I did not have a lot of Bear images to select from, but I did have was what may be the most iconic bear of them all, Winnie the Pooh. The silly old bear, who is as sweet as a pot of honey, will always hold a special place in my heart. I can’t wait to see what YOU create. But before you head off to gather your stamps, papers and inks, please stop by and leave my Design Teammates some “Comment Love”. Your comments definitely brighten our day! Just remember, it is Clean and Simple week. Make sure your creations meet the following criteria:
Have minimal layers and embellishments
Have plenty of open space
Are simple and uncluttered
Just The Facts, Ma’am
The inspiration for today’s card came directly from the Silly Old Bear designer series paper. When I saw the image of Pooh jotting down a note, I knew it would be perfect for creating a note card. While I didn’t have a “Just A Note” sentiment I wanted to use, I was drawn to the “Just A Little Hello” sentiment from the Cutest Crew stamp set. I inked it in Early Espresso and stamped it onto Very Vanilla cardstock. It was die-cut out with a Perennial Postage die and matted onto Hydrangea Hue cardstock. Hydrangea Hue was also used for the card base. And wouldn’t you know it! That sneaky Softly Woven 3D embossing folder jumped right out of its package and demanded that I use it AGAIN to create the lovely background. Who am I to argue with a talking embossing folder? The sentiment was centered onto the card base and popped up with dimensionals. The “Poohs” were arranged as shown. Butterflies and flowers were die-cut from Hydrangea Hue using the dies from the Cutest Crew collection. Of course, I could resist adding a rhinestone on the largest flower and the butterflies.

Nueve’s Notes
Hey, everyone! It’s me, Nueve. I am feeling wiggleliciously good. In fact, Mom told me I am well enough to have surgery so I won’t get really sick again ’cause of my prostate gland. I think Mom said I was going to be “tutored”, but I may have misheard her. I hope she said tutored, ’cause I like learning new things. Maybe Doc Rita is going to teach me tricks!
While I may be feeling so much better, Uncle Q hurt his eye. He has to get two different kinds of eye drops four times a day. When he goes to see Doc Rita, he has to get a drop in his eye which makes it look green where the “owie” is. It’s scary, ’cause the green place stays there for awhile. But he still plays and eats and drinks really good, so he will be OK.
Sixxy had problems, too. She was playing in the yard and stepped on a hornet. She got stung. She couldn’t stand on her foot and then started licking it like a crazy dog. Mom put ice on it and give her a Benny-Drill. It fixed her right up, ’cause she was able to play hide and go sneak later. Can you see her?
After playing outside, Mom said we had to come in so she could clean house. Our job was to guard her while she vacuumed. She moved the couch so we could watch anybody walking near our house. I stood up really tall so people would be afraid and stay away.
Yep! Protecting Mom while she works is just part of my job. I’m a Working Dog. I am Good Boy Nueve!
