What’s happening . . .

The Albuquerque City Council unanimously passed O-26-55 last week, a measure that will make it easier for the City to incorporate quick-build safety improvements when streets are repaved or restriped.

Quick-build projects use relatively simple, lower-cost materials and designs to address safety concerns without waiting for a major reconstruction project. Improvements can include painted treatments, bollards, safer crossings, pedestrian refuge areas, protected bike lanes, and changes that slow dangerous turning movements.

Starting on 9/29, the Tuesday and Thursday NE Loop rides will start one hour later at 9:00 AM. This means they will be at the Alameda open space around 10-10:10 for those that join the ride there.

The Any Way The Wind Blows Sunday ride will start at 9:30 a.m. beginning Sunday, September 27.
