Where it all begins

The original IRONMAN race on Australian shores,  IRONMAN Australia has been where it all begins for so many Australian IRONMAN athletes. Join the annual pilgrimage to the race’s home in Port Macquarie, where the usually lowkey town is taken over by IRONMAN for the week. 

Port Macquarie is renowned as a family-friendly, coastal town with a chilled, laid-back atmosphere and the local support during race week is second-to-none and are some of the unique reasons which keeps athletes returning to IRONMAN Australia each year.

The most varied IRONMAN course on the continent, IRONMAN Australia brings you something new around every corner. A unique river swim with the iconic weir crossing leads into a bike ride past classic Australian countryside and beautiful coastline, before a run through the warm heart of Port Macquarie brings you to the ultimate finish line.
