The International Institute of Islamic Thought
The International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT) is a center of excellence in educational research and Islamic thought whose main interest is on carrying out evidence-based research in advancing education in Muslim Societies and the dissemination of this research through publication and translation, teaching, policy recommendations, and strategic engagements. The Institute was established as a non-profit 501(c)(3) non-denominational organization in the United States of America in 1981. The headquarters are in Herndon, Virginia, in the suburbs of Washington DC.

IIIT Al Faruqi Memorial Lecture
The International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT) held its annual Al Faruqi Memorial Lecture and Reception at the 2025 annual meeting of the American Academy of Religion (AAR) in Boston on Sunday, Nov. 23, 2025. Dr. Salih Sayilgan, Georgetown University, delivered the lecture based on his newly published book, Following the Prophet: The Life and Legacy of Muhammad (Fortress Press), and signed copies of the book afterwards as well.
