Canada’s first CF-35A completes maiden flight in Texas
Canada’s first F-35A Lightning II, destined for the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) as the CF-35A, has completed its maiden flight from Lockheed Martin’s production facility at Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth, Texas, on 23 September 2026.

USAF F-16CM crashes at Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany
A U.S. Air Force F-16CM assigned to the 52nd Fighter Wing’s 480th Fighter Squadron "Warhawks" crashed at approximately 14:30h local time on 22 September 2026, shortly after returning from a training exercise.

Texas ANG F-16 crashes during training in Michigan, pilot ejects safely
A Texas Air National Guard F-16 Fighting Falcon crashed during a routine training mission in northern Michigan on 17 September 2026. The pilot successfully ejected before the aircraft went down and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
