More Power to You

Energy Trust of Oregon offers energy savings and solutions that power your life at home, at work and across Oregon and Southwest Washington.

Stay cool, stay prepared and save money this summer

Hot weather and wildfire smoke can make you feel uncomfortable in your own home. A few simple changes can help keep your home cooler, improve indoor air quality, reduce energy use and help you stay comfortable all summer long.

ENERGY SAVING TIPS

Keep hot air out during the day. Close windows, blinds and shades when it’s hot outside. Open windows and doors at night to let cooler air in.

Appliances and electronics give off heat. Try running dishwashers and laundry in the evening and switch to LED bulbs to keep your home cooler.

Running a portable air purifier on high speed helps catch many of those fine smoke particles in the air. Energy Trust offers an instant $75 discount at select retailers.
