Our mission is to strengthen the cybersecurity posture of critical energy infrastructures. To do this, EnergySec has developed strong ties across the electric sector, including utilities of all sizes, numerous industry vendors, government agencies, state regulators, national labs, and multiple trade organizations.
What We Offer
EnergySec operates a range of programs across five core areas: Community, Workforce Development, Professional Education, Information Sharing and Analysis, and Services. These are all focused on supporting efforts in our industry.
Community
Our community activities comprise many of our member benefits, including most of our publications and general industry participation. We foster interaction, collaboration, and education through our various programs and activities in this area.
Professional Education
We offer a wide range of courses providing individuals and organizations with in-depth knowledge of NERC CIP standards, as well as NERC audit preparation and compliance oversight practices. Our courses are offered in person and online, as well as offered onsite for organizations.
Shared Services
EnergySec offers a comprehensive suite of cybersecurity services tailored for electric utilities. Our services are aligned with industry frameworks like C2M2 and NERC CIP and support critical areas such as risk management, incident response, and workforce development.
Workforce Development
EnergySec is working to ensure a steady pipeline of qualified security professionals and to increase the skills and capabilities of the current workforce. We perform outreach to academia, promote internships and apprenticeships, as well as operate professional education programs for industry staff.
Information Sharing
We are a registered ISAO, developing programs and services to foster and support information sharing. We believe that collaboration is essential to securing our shared infrastructure. Our partnerships provide a wealth of non- public information to our members, as well as providing technical, developmental and analytical services to assist entities in protecting their environment.
