Font Release: AdSkript Max
A casual script with American Spirit
We’re happy to announce the release of AdSkript Max.
AdSkript Max translates the lettering of 1940s and 1950s American sign painting into a versatile contemporary typeface family.
AdSkript Max is a disconnected script, allowing letterspacing to be adjusted like a conventional typeface and easily adapted to different layout needs.
It performs especially well in all-caps settings and includes two additional sets of large capitals, designed specifically for headlines.
Lively entry and exit strokes, a slightly irregular rhythm, and an open construction give the design an honest, approachable character â expressive without becoming ornamental.
This style of lettering flourished in the early 1940s, a period shaped by wartime economy and optimism.
Patriotic slogans, shop signs, and price tags often relied on direct, readable scripts that felt casual, practical, and trustworthy.
The same visual language appeared in comic strips and later influenced advertising and packaging design throughout the post-war years.
AdSkript Max draws directly from this visual heritage.
AdSkript Max makes extended use of OpenType features to set up alternate letters, special priceing figures and underlines.

It is designed to be simple, versatile, and dependable â a script typeface that performs just as well in contemporary layouts as it does in retro-inspired designs.
