Each year our stake holds a mission academy for all those in High School. Ellie and some of her friends went this year. They had a good time being with each other and maybe learned a little :). Ellie's favorite part was the Cafe Rio style lunch.
Ellie had tryouts for the high school dance co. team. She wasn't as nervous this time around but still got worried right before they announced the team. She made it for the second year and she's so excited to be on such a great team again!
After Spring Break we headed down to St. George for another dance competition. It was a little chilly but we managed to squeeze in some pool time and visited a few of our favorite food places. It's always a fun little getaway but I wish we would've had more time to enjoy it.
In addition to a Dance Co. concert we still had a competition that same weekend. This competition happened to be 1 hour away and once we got our times we realized it was going to be CRAZY. Friday started with Ava's solo and she once again was amazing. Ellie had testing that morning so she met us down there for her team to perform. They were able to perform one of their dances before they realized they left their prop which is an hour away. They rushed it down after some drama and finally was able to perform. We then all rushed back to get ready for the last night of Dance Co. concert.
The next morning Ava had a 6:30 a.m. call time which meant we had to leave our house all ready at 5:30 a.m. She performed her hip hop dance and then we drove back home. We then had to return at 4:30 p.m. an hour earlier than anticipated because someone on Ava's team got sick and they had to respace both their dances. On our way down we got hit with a massive snow storm that made white out conditions. I was so glad when we made it and was so lucky it stopped by the time we went home.
After Ava performed both of her dances, we then had to wait around to see if they would pick her team to perform about 10:30 we found out they didn't so we booked it home and made it home just shy of midnight. It was an exhausting weekend!
Nate snuck on here for an embarrassing birthday post but I just wanted to do a follow-up post. I feel extremely blessed by all the amazing people I am surrounded by. I felt so loved throughout the day with texts, phone calls, messages and gifts. I started out the day with a video montage that Nate made with messages from some of my favorite people. I cried throughout the whole thing and it took awhile for me to collect myself. We then headed to lunch and topped the day off with Ellie's Dance Co. concert. It was an amazing day and I'm so grateful!
Cami usually writes these blog posts, but I feel like writing something about Cami is the least I can do on her birthday. As with every one of her birthdays, Cami's birthday reminds everyone how much we love her and appreciate all she does. The festivities actually began the night before. Why? Because between Wednesday and Saturday, Cami is busy helping the girls with dance recitals and performances.
