Condemnation of the Tampa Taliban

The Judah P. Benjamin Camp #2210, Sons of Confederate Veterans, unequivocally condemns the recent vandalism at the historic Brandon Family Cemetery. The desecration of any burial ground is a serious offense against the dignity of the deceased, the grief of their families, and the shared historical heritage of our community.

We understand that the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is investigating this incident and that Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay is offering a reward for information that leads to the arrest and prosecution of the person responsible.

We urge anyone with relevant information to share it promptly through the appropriate law-enforcement or Crime Stoppers channels. Community members should not interfere with the investigation or attempt to confront any suspected individual.

Benjamin Camp #2210 remains committed to the respectful preservation of historic cemeteries and to supporting lawful efforts to identify and hold accountable those responsible for this damage. We stand with the family, the Brandon community and law enforcement in calling for respect, accountability, and the protection of this sacred place.
