Wow! I have always loved Shakespeare, and usually feel that remakes don't do him justice; however, this series totally hit the nail on the head! Venessa took two people, who one would think would never become romantically entangled with each other, and they fell in love.

I think Venessa did a fabulous job in building the characters, and allowing us to come to know them individually before their romance lit up like the Fourth of July! I loved getting to know Ella, and her background. I was fascinated to see the privilege she came from, and how she was able to build a life on her own terms, while not allowing herself to fall upon her privileged upbringing.

I loved coming to know Raj as the story evolved, and see how much he cared for his native Jordan, his family, the people in his country as well as the refugees. I loved that he is so determined to help them find a better life.

I think the love scenes had enough spark to be juicy, interesting and fun, without going over the edge and changing the novel into a more erotic novel.

I enjoyed reading the background of Jordan, the descriptions of all of places within the story. I could close my eyes and see the pictures based on the words. I love reading books where the author is skilled enough to balance the boring, but necessary, description with art of using visual language, and ending up with a work that is not boring, but transports the reader the world the author is describing. It was effortless for me to see what the characters were seeing.

I can't wait to see the finale, and see where Ella and Raj's romance takes us. Will they end up as Romeo and Juliet, or will they have their happily ever after? I, for one, cannot wait to find out.

This is one hot book that will keep you devouring its pages until the very end! It's a steamy world crossing reach your destiny read. These star crossed lovers share larger than life dreams but their family only want them to think of their duty. The surprising cliffhanger ending will crush your beating heart.

Ella wants her freedom. She's stepped out of her mold and is reaching for the stars and trying to follow a path that is unexplored. Her family wants to see El soar in the socialite atmosphere that she's been raised in. She's American royalty and she's thrown it all away to be independent. She's making her own choices and following her heart. She's taken responsibility for her own expenses and actions.

Raj can't stop thinking about the beautiful face that he's found twice unexpectedly. When he travels home he picks up his princely mantle and shows his family what his forward thinking can do for his country. His older brother is into some shady things and trying to lead in his own manner. Raj isn't the blind little brother anymore and he's not going to be silent and let his fate be decided for him. When he sees Ella again he takes hold of their destiny and makes her a promise.

This is addictive with a love story that will draw you in. The setting and clash of cultures makes this unputdownable!

I will note that while I loved this, there were some editing issues that pulled me right away from the scenes.

I don’t know where Venessa came up with the idea for this story, but it is brilliant! Ella is an amazing heroine, and Rajaa is the kind of man you wish was leading every country. Watching Ella and Raj fall in love was breathtaking. And watching them both working with the refugee children was lovely.

I cried. A lot. Every time I read about one of the little girls Ella was teaching, or the family she was staying with, or some of the things happening while Ella was there, all I could think was these things are really happening. Right now. In our world. And then I wondered what on earth I could do about it. I’m still not sure, but this story definitely feels like a call to action.

There are a few secondary characters in this book that you will love, like the family that Ella is staying with, the little girls she’s teaching, Ella’s younger sister, as well as Raj’s younger sister…and a few that you will love to hate. I am so infuriated with two of them in particular…but I won’t name names, you’ll just have to read it for yourself.

But that ending?! When can I get my hands on the next book?

I am left speechless by Cross the Stars!! If I could give it more than 5 stars you better believe that I would do so in a red hot minute!!! It’s a very well thought out and in depth storyline that will have you wanting more. Cross the Stars is intense, hopeful, full of love and passion. However, with all of that being said, you can’t have any of that without a bit of betrayal and deceit. Trust me when I say that Cross the Stars is the entire package!!!! I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough and by the time I reached the end I wanted so much more. There are characters that you will adore and a couple that you will abhor. I found this book to be very refreshing and not like any others I have read before. I can’t wait to read Steal the Moon when it releases. I very strongly recommend that you purchase and read Cross the Stars immediately! Don't miss out on a great read.

This was such a well crafted and exciting story that started slowly, then started gaining momentum, until finally it was just barreling, like a run away train, toward a conclusion that you just knew was going to be explosive.

I did find Ella, the female lead character, a little annoying and immature at times. I mean come on, letting the F bomb fly almost constantly, and in a very conservative foreign country, was more than ridiculous. There was a bit of insta- love happening between Ella and Raj that I had to get past, but once I did I found the characters and story very engaging.

The only other thing that I have to mention was the lack of editing. I just don't get why authors put their work out there with so many errors! If they can't get someone else to edit, they need to read it over themselves.

All that being said, I really enjoyed the book overall and recommend it. I can't believe I have to wait months for the conclusion, though.

I enjoyed this story very much. I loved the way Ella & Raj met at a party in D.C. They thought it would be for only one night and they'd never see each other again until unexpectedly, they meet again but under much different circumstances. The story is well written and the characters are well developed. It's an all-around great storyline. I can't wait for the next book in this series.

The characters are stupendous and so true to life, I was drawn in by them almost ar once. I'm still hoping there's a redemption for some - perhaps a covert mission that explains it all. ... just, something ...

The storyline was as large an attraction for me as the romance, possibly even more so. It was rich, multilayered and so compelling.

Even though I'm chronologically outside of the NA age group, I find many of the novels written for this age range interesting, but I felt Ms. Kimball delivered an exceptionally compelling storyline. I simply am honestly beyond words. YOU HAVE TO READ IT!

I loved the book, probably one of my most favourite.

I am very disappointed however that not only is the second book unavailable there is also no information available regarding release date. This really disappoints me as information provided on website indicates it was released in 2017. I am really put off an author when this happens, releasing one book in a duet but not the second and final book is a waste of the readers time and money. Information that the series is incomplete should clearly be advised by amazon and author before the book is made available for sale.

I have over 600 books from amazon but I am rethinking my choices as this has happened before and is the most frustrating thing that can happen to an avid reader. Not to mention the negative impression it creates for the author who i again state is very good.
