Who know in my earlier posts today when I was in search of a creative spark that I would be handed one over the dinner table tonight. As we were delving into my newest chicken and rice concoction (which was very yummy thanks for asking), my middle kiddo strikes up a conversation of what I thought of Poe's thought process in The Cask of Amontillado over dinner. It's rather ironic since I spent the day chasing down a creative spark only to have one handed to me over the dinner table!
This of course was followed by the eldest child's statement that he has to eat and run because he has a book report due tomorrow before 7:30 am. And yes he means it as his last assignment was turned in at 10:00 am when he entered class and was immediately docked 25 points for not being turned in before the day started. Class room control freak? Maybe .... maybe not as my son says on his way out of the kitchen .... I need to go find a book to read. As my Grandma Mae used to say ... Lawdy, Lawdy child.
Then I had to do the unspeakable .... Pop the Drama Mama's bubble .. for the last two hours we've run the gamut of ache's and pains. Arm still hurts lead to a stomach ache which lead to a back ache which was followed up by miscellaneous pains until we reached the eyebrows. Yes, EYEBROWS. Apparently the only thing that heals aching eyebrows is chocolate ice cream. Once treatment was administered the roving aches and pains began again .. Oh my brain is pounding into my skull ... Oh why is it so cold in here .... Oh why .......UNTIL ...
Drama Mama: I am so sick ... even my tonsils hurt.
Drama Mama's Mama: Really, how can that be?
Drama Mama: I don't know but they do and I can't go to school with tonsils
that are sick.
Drama Mama's Mama: That would be true ... good thing we had yours cut out
almost 10 years ago.
Is it bedtime yet?????? Mine or her's I don't even care which.

A little older and somewhat wiser, I am still here. Age is just a number and somedays I am a whole lot more mature than others. Today I spent some much needed time revisiting the stories of my kid's antics and it made me wish I had been more dedicated and wonder how many memories I've lost in the "archives". So no commitments (those who know me know I don't take that word lightly) and no promises but while I am still here ... I'd rather be back. So drop by now and again and perhaps we'll both be pleasantly surprised.
In the meantime ... here's me .. still kicking ..

I miss my creativity time .. somewhere amidst a crazy life with two teens, a tween, a sexy man, a twenty year old "step", a pair of silly dogs and a serious facebook addiction I have lost the momentum to create. Occasionally I still drag out the camera and do a little digi-scrapping. I've held a garage sale and cleared out the Junk room that used to be my crafting room. I just can't seem to get motivated to create. This space has been much neglected and ignored and I miss the motivation it used to give me. In an effort to get back in the groove I decided to spend some "me" time this morning perusing blogs rather than cyber-stalking people I've known since childhood. How much can they really have changed since .. oh, yesterday? Who wants to spend a morning off doing chores? I came across the Thursday 13 .. memes used to be something I loved to stimulate the thought process. What better than my favorite number in an open meme to look for motivation. I've decided that since this blog was originally started to maintain my sanity as a single mother and inspire my creativity that I would revisit my favorite 13 posts .... My daughter is without a doubt one of my greatest blessings - as are each of my children. This time of year after she's celebrated another birthday and my baby is no longer quite a baby, I am especially grateful. After an injury and subsequent treatment, I discovered that I was pregnant and was told by more than one doctor that the pregnancy should be terminated - that the baby would never be "normal" and that I could expect problems forever. This came from Doctors that were clinical, cruel and definitely not in obstetrics. I'm sure the legalities of prescribing meds and xrays and the fears of malpractice force such uncompassionate bedside manners - but my choice to listen to those that had faith and were positive was my own to make. And eleven years later, my sweet girl still brings a smile to my face and joy to my heart. She is a blessing to any and all who really know her. I love you sweet girl and am grateful everyday that you are in my life!

Learning to count my blessings everyday is my New Year's Resolution .. hopefully an easy one to keep even when life gets crazy. Today's blessing of choice is a very special someone. After several years going it alone, having friendship turn into something much more has been an ongoing wonderful gift. Although I have numerous blessings to count this first day of 2011 - 1-1-11, I chose to focus on this one ... thus I am out of here and on to quality time while the kiddos are off doing their thing.

I was reading some of my earlier posts with how I struggled to get this blog off the ground and used it for creative inspiration in conjunction with my FGM friends. It seems as though as the lists I participated in dwindled away so did a lot of my creative energy. I've since delved into the world of digital scrapping leaving little time to my sewing which recently I have discovered I miss. As the kids have gotten older and less comfortable with me sharing their antics I find that I blog less and less. I'm still interested just torn between the social networking taken up by facebooking and the time spent digi scrapping. I've updated my secondary blog with photos but not much else. Now that I've discovered uploading via email perhaps this will get some more attention. I appreciate those of you who still check me out now and again and hopefully will find some time to continue to add some creative spark here and there. I find as I go back and read some of my earlier favorite posts that there are a lot of memories I treasure here that might have been lost otherwise. Hope you are creating your own memory pages in life - just don't forget to document the great ones!
