Today's random figure is idea278Thompson, a LEGO Ideas figure that came in one set, 21367 Tintin Moon Rocket, released during 2026.

This week's vintage set is 270 Grandfather Clock, Chair and Table, released during 1973. It's one of 8 Homemaker sets produced that year. It contains 47 pieces.

To coincide with the launch of 72306 PlayStation, LEGO is releasing a model of the company's mascot, beloved platforming hero Astro Bot!
The 276-piece 40899 Astro Bot set will be a gift-with-purchase, available starting on October 1st. Full details are not yet confirmed, but it is rumored to be given away free with any purchases exceeding $150. We will let you know more information as we hear it.
In the process of reviewing the LEGO Ideas 21373 Downton Abbey set, I have been corresponding with Lady Carnarvon and her team at Highclere Castle about some of the features hidden inside the detailed LEGO set that represents their home.
To coincide with the global release of the 21373 Downton Abbey set, Highclere Castle will be hosting their first ever Literary Festival over the weekend of 3/4 October.

2026 marks 100 years since the death of Spanish architect Antoni Gaudí. To commemorate the centenary, the tallest tower of his masterpiece in Barcelona, the Basilica i Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada Família, has been completed, and LEGO is releasing a model of the iconic landmark that will be the largest set ever by piece count.
The building has been under construction for 144 years and is still not complete. The LEGO model won't take quite as long as that to build, but it's still a monumental undertaking.
Rumours of a set based on Dragon Ball have been circulating for some time, and they've now been confirmed by a teaser that LEGO has just posted on social media.
There's not much to go on, other than the seven dragon balls and an Adults Welcome logo which suggests that the model will be rated 18+.
The IP was predicted to be one that LEGO would jump on by CapnRex101 back January this year in his article LEGO licensed sets: What is left to do?, which also correctly predicted KPop Demon Hunters and the return of SpongeBob.

As I mentioned yesterday, Chris is at the LEGO Creator Summit this week, and the first piece of news that we can report on from the event is that next year's LEGOLAND Exclusive set will be 50090 LEGOLAND Park Adventure, which will be available at the parks from February.
The 1,578-piece set will retail for $109.99 in the USA.
I'm guessing that collectors of the 6-scale figures will be slightly miffed that it'll be another hard-to-find one.

A new issue of Brick.it magazine, packed with interesting and original content and produced to a very high standard, is now available.
Within Issue 28's 99 pages are articles by Norton74 describing his Porco Rosso MOC and LEGO Ideas designer Alessio Ridolfi whose Sewing Machine will be gracing the shelves soon, as well as special features on the 10th anniversary of BrickHeadz, collecting monochrome minifigures, and LEGO photography.

The second LEGO Ideas review period of 2026 ended a week or so ago and during the four months prior, 92 projects accrued the necessary 10,000 supporters to gain a place in the review.
As usual there are projects that have no hope, others that are too similar to recently released sets, and yet more that we all wish will pass review but which will probably be unsuccessful.
