I built a new app because I was tired of scrolling past jokes, quote-posts, and the same article six times on social media. I also didn’t want to miss great articles from sources not in my RSS feeds when I wasn’t plugged in for a while. When I’m ready to read, I want the links. Just the links, and all the links.

I’ve been working on Apex for a while: a unified Markdown processor that pulls together the good parts of CommonMark, GFM, MultiMarkdown, Kramdown, and Marked itself. With Marked 3.2.6, Apex lands in the app as a built-in processor (beta), so you can try that whole stack without leaving the preview.

Public posts, profiles, and collections on Marked Share now get their own share card. Paste a link into Mastodon, Slack, iMessage, or a blog comment and you should see the title, byline, and date on a Marked-colored card instead of the generic site image.

I built a little Conway’s Game of Life toy for myself, mostly because I wanted something calm and oddly hypnotic on my phone and Watch. Somewhere along the way I named it GoLlyGee, shrugged, and thought: what the heck, put it on the App Store for $0.99.

I write a lot of scripts that grab screenshots with , fire CleanShot X’s URL handler, or shove rectangles into AppleScript window frames. The annoying part has never been the capture itself â it’s getting the exact coordinates for the region I care about. I’ve eyeballed them, measured with Digital Color Meter, typed numbers into a calculator, and still gotten them wrong more often than I’d like.
