Wow time can fly by

I was look at the blog tonight after yet another late night of school work and realized it has been six months since I last posted anything. Well lets see where to began.

First my father came and spent Thanksgiving with us, which was the first time in my whole life I have ever spent a holiday with him. The children LOVED him and Rory keeps asking when Grandpa Frenchy is coming back. A little back story on the name; his name is actually Dan, for those of you who do not know, but when my mom met him he used the nick name Frenchy and so that is what I was raised calling him. One day when Rory was five she asked me if I had a father and what his name was; well I was not really thinking about it and said Frenchy and well that is what she now calls him. I find it hilarious :). We had a great time while he was here and even got some really good photos of him with Rory and Seath.

We spent both holidays (Thanksgiving and Christmas) in our new home. My mom came up and spent Christmas with us which was also nice. She spoiled Rory and Seath like always and also like always they LOVE when they get to see grandma. Seath is even getting to the point where he calls her grandma and doesn't just grunt to get her attention any more.

Seath turned three in March and for his birthday grandma, my mom, took us to Disney where she did the Princess make over for Rory and a Pirate make over for Seath. They were both adorable; Seath fell asleep while getting his done and Rory loved every minute of being pampered and getting to wear makeup.

OK graduated from college with his BA in February and it has been nice having more time with him. He is still busy with studying for test and certs he has to do for work, but at least he has a little more time to spend with us. For about four months they moved him from being an RT to working in the Cardio Lab, but as of today (27 April 15) he is back over in RT. He has a different position over there so we still get him for the weekends and holidays, but he likes doing RT and it gives him more time to study at work which in turn gives us more time with him at home.

Rory is almost done with first grade and even though this school has been better for her than her last, we still do not like the schools down here and have decide to homeschool her next year. We have even bought all the books we are using to do it. Please pray that we all make it through next year with our sanity lol.

I am still working on my AA in ECE. I will be done with it in October and plans to take the month of November off before starting on my BA in ECE. While working towards my BA I am is going to apply to be a substitute teacher and pickup days when OK is off.

We try to go to Florida to see Mama as much as we can. With Rory being in school and OK's work schedule we do not get down there as much as we would like, but it is better than being across the country and not being able to go at all. It has been over a year since we lost my Papa; people say it gets easier with time, but honestly the only thing that has changed is the fact that I fake being happy a little better than I could a year ago. Now I am able to hide just how much I cry from everyone and I am able to talk about him with Mama with out breaking down or changing the topic, so I guess that is a step in the right direction. Losing him has been the hardest thing I have ever gone through; maybe one day I can think of him and not start bawling like a baby, but in till then I will fake my way through the heartache.

On a positive note my Mama has FINALLY agreed to come spend some time with us this summer. She is going to see her sister for about a month and then she is coming here to see us for about the same amount of time. I cannot wait to show her our house and have her for a whole month.

Well I guess that is it for now. I will post again in about another six months lol.

Never boring in the Hubble house

We have started going to church here and The primary class had a presentation in sacrament today (26 Oct 2014). With OK's schedule at work I was on my own for getting the children fed and all of us dressed. After feeding the children I went to take a shower. After getting out I called Rory into the bathroom to do her hair. A few seconds later Seath came in with dry erase markers. Before I could ask him why he had them Rory piped up and said he was drawing in the wall. At this point my spidey sense (or maybe the mommy sense) kicked in so I asked Rory if she drew on the wall and she said "no mommy". I then asked her what she was doing after a long pause she said told me she was brushing her teeth. After I was done with her hair we walked towards the living room and she took off to her room. I found where "Seath" was drawing and this is what I found

Needless to say she is in trouble for not only the drawing, but (and mainly) for lying to me! She is 6yrs old and knows better!! Over the last year she has started doing the exact opposite of what she is told. I am at my whits end and have no clue what is going on with her or how to get her out of it.

Man oh man has Rory been in a REALLY BAD MOOD today and like always she is taking it out on her daddy. Well instead of me getting upset with either of them today I have just laughed it off. Well while being in a bad mood Rory had lost the ablitity to think before talking. With this lack of ablitity she has said some really funny things.

"You're a meany head"

"Well I don't love you any more"

"I am going to give you one more chance"

And now my favorite so far R: "I don't want to talk to you any more father" O: "then leave your door closed" R: "yayaya".

It has been a while

It dawned on me today that it has been a long time sense we last posted a new blog. In the last few months we have been super busy. OK finished his retrain, Rory finished Kindergarten, both Amber and OK have been busy with school (we both made the deans list for spring semester), and Seath has been growing like a weed.

Towards the end of OK's retrain we got orders to stay in Mississippi. With the new orders and the fact we could possibly be here the rest of OK's military career we bought a house!! The summer has been a busy one with unpacking, painting, decorating, and building a linen closet (we lived in our house for a good two or three weeks before noticing we did not have one). We love our house.

Rory went to Florida to spend 10 days with mama (her great grandma) and will come home on Aug 10th. So far she is have a great time. She will start 1st grade on Aug 18th and is almost 6 years old!! I cannot believe she is almost six. Where has the time gone? Rory will also be doing Girl Scouts again this year.

Seath has grown so much over the summer. He is closer to the size of a four year old than a two year old. He is in 3T bottoms and 4T tops. He has a long torso like his daddy. He is all boy! He plays rough, loves balls of any shape, color, and size, and loves trains, boats, and planes. He will sit forever as long as mommy is reading to him and there is one book he even reads with mommy. We are working on colors and numbers at the moment. He is getting a better each week.

OK is working hard at his new job. He loves what he is doing. He has six months before he is done with college. He is also going to be co-leader for Rory's Girl Scout troop. Thankfully he will be done with school just as cookie season hits again.

Amber is trying her hand at troop leader again this year for Rory's troop. She is also busy with college and has another year and two months before she is done with her first degree.

Amber and OK also celebrated their nine year wedding anniversary in July.

Juice detox day two

Well I lost two pounds during day one. As much as I wanted to give up and eat I was a good girl and did not give in lol.

Day two breakfast juice consist of strawberries, a green apple, one kiwi, hand full of grapes, a very small slice of ginger, and a banana. It is really good :)

For lunch I tried a lemonade juice. Ya that was gross. I was only able to choke down half of it before dumping it out and making a new one.

By dinner time I was having a hard time sticking to this juice detox. I actually ate one tiny almond and felt bad that I broke, but I had a juice for dinner.

By the end of the day I had lost five pounds. I know it's mainly water weight, but hey I will take what ever I can get at this point.

Day one SUCKS!!!!! I just want real food. I have a headache from heck and I feel sick. Our lunch was a mango salsa juice. Ya about that, I just wanted chips to eat with it and could only choke down a little bit of it. I then made a pumpkin sweet potato which was not so bad, but I STILL JUST WANT REAL FOOD!!! For dinner we made a spinach, kale, apple, pear, banana juice. It was almost as good as out breakfast juice, but as I have said a few times now I WANT FOOD!!!!!

Waffle and Ketchup!?!

After Lindsey share on Facebook about it being "National Pancake Day" we decided to go to IHOP for dinner. Seath is like Amber in the fact he does not like pancakes but loves waffles, so we got him Berry and Cream waffle. It was really good; that is before Seath decided to load his plate with ketchup to dip his waffle in.

Our Town

We get really bad fog in this new little town of ours. It will last for DAYS!! Well yesterday I was driving down Beach BLVD on my way home and some nitwit was going the WRONG way right at ME!! It is not easy to go the wrong way down Beach BLVD due to the medians that separate the two sides. Thankfully there are plenty of side streets and they noticed I could not get over and quickly turned. I have never encountered anything like that and I had both of the children in the car with me. My heart dropped! Thankfully I saw them before they saw me and started slowing WAY down.

We do not normally let our children online, play with electronics, or watch much T.V, but yesterday Amber downloaded a shapes app for Seath. He took her phone and headed upstairs to "learn" his shapes. This is where/how we found him

Winter storm 2014

When we moved to the wonderful Gulf coast back in May Amber asked several people what the winters here were like. Coming from Vegas we had gotten use to very cold winters. Well everyone kept telling her "oh it does not get that cold. You will only need long sleeves or a light jacket". Boy oh boy were they WRONG!!! Here we are with day three of sleet (on Friday the 24th of Jan, it did not stick), day two of the bases being closed, and day two of no school for little miss. Here are some photos for you :)

Seath climbed onto the kitchen counter this morning. We had our bread maker box sitting in the kitchen and he used it as a stepping stool. Very creative lol

Needless to say he started crying and could not figure out how to get down.

So we had a very full weekend. It was jam packed with dinners with friends from OK's class. On Friday we had two if them over and had pumpkin risotto with seared scallops. Once again, Amber created a fantastic meal.

On Sunday, we had two other friends over to have dinner with us. OK made a meatloaf with mashed potatoes and green beans.

After the great weekend, OK made a doctors appointment for his allergies. Well come to find out, OK may be allergic to shellfish (or just scallops). It is clear to see that Amber may be trying to kill me. I am thankful that the doctor gave me five different drugs to keep control of my allergies and to prevent my possible upcoming death.

I hope you all find out what happens in the coming weeks, who really knows what Amber puts in the food she makes (she could already have a plan in motion).

Week 1, 2014

So the first week of the new year has come and gone. I must say that the first week went by in a blink of an eye.

So we started it off in Florida with the family. We literally stayed up until midnight and then were in bed no later than 1205. On the 3rd we had to make our way back to Mississippi for OK to go back to work. Well on the eight hour drive home, we ended up hitting some traffic which turned the eight hours into 12. I would like to say that the worst part was the drive home, but it was not. We pulled into Gulfport around 1100pm and we saw a cop car in the median of the road. As we passed it, OK looked in the mirror and the cop car was gone and he saw a taxi in the median. Even Amber was questioning what was going on... Well, this is what made us look like we were going crazy:

Other than making us feel like we were going crazy, OK had to spend the night in the hospital to get a sleep study done. We were lucky enough to find out that he stops breathing when he sleeps on his back. So now they may actually take his tonsils out to help with this problem.

Now we have to get back to the college classes that we started towards the end of December. OK is just a year away from his Bachlors in Sociology and Amber well into the first year of her Early Childhood Education degree.

Our trip back to MS

We got to spend two wonderful weeks in Florida with Mama. The time went by way too fast, but we will be heading back down there next month.

Any way the trip back to MS was very long and even with a DVD player in the back seat Seath thought it would be fun to punish all of us by screaming, not crying, but blood curdling top of his lungs screaming!!

A nine hour trip turned into more of a 12 hour trip, due to the fact that there was a really bad accident and it took an hour and a half to go FIVE miles!! After we got through that we were good and the roads were clear.

Once we got to our exit in MS to head home we saw a car in the middle of HWY 49 at first glance we thought it was a taxi and then looking again we thought it was a cop car. Neither of us said anything to the other about until after we passed it. The next day we went to SAMs club and saw the car again. I think the photo below is enough of an explanation

I am just thankful we were not going crazy and seeing things lol.

Year end review

This year has been one of the hardest years of my life!!

We started the year in Las Vegas and ended it in Florida with our Mama.

Seath,

In March Seath turned one. In June he learned to walk (at the time he found his mode of transportation faster) just before his daddy left for four months. Now he is all over the place and into anything and everything he can reach. He talks all the time and is all boy. He loves balls and cars and he even started head butting everything and everyone. He is very sweet and loving, he will give you endless hugs and kisses. He loves his mama (great-grandma) more than anything and will sit in "their" chair yelling mama and patting the seat for her to come sit back down. At his last doctors appointment he was almost 35inches and 31lbs. He is very tall for his age.

Rory,

Rory started Kindergarten in August and turned five at the end of August. She is the youngest child in her class. She also started Girl Scouts this year, she is a Daisy. She is 45.5inches and 43lbs. Rory went on her first big girl roller coaster this year and LOVED it!! She loves school, teachers, and her friends. She is full of energy and always on the move. She is really into Doc McStuffins, Hello Kitty, and Pinkie Pie from My Little Pony's. She is looking forward to Cookie Sales.

OK,

This year he hung up his badge and beret to go into the medical career field. This caused us to move from Nellis AFB to Keesler AFB. He then had to go to Fort Sam Houston for four months for phase one of his retrain. He only has 30 credits left for his BA. With being in the middle of his retrain and college degree he does not have much time for much else. Even with all that on his plate, he still makes time for the family and an active member of our Girl Scout troop.

Amber,

This year has been long with many ups and downs. Three months after moving across country she had to move again. The bad part to that is she had to do it while OK was gone and she had Bronchitis after having whooping cough. The good thing was within a week of moving she was better. In September she was able to get three days off with OK while her mom watched the children (she went out to OK's phase one graduation). Amber took on being room mom for Rory's class and leader of Rory's Daisy troop. She also started back to college this year for her Teaching degree. She is starting with her AA and will end with her Masters in Secondary Education. She also had her first anniversary of turning 29 this year.

The family,

We started the year in Las Vegas, NV/Nellis AFB and in May we moved across country to Biloxi, MS/Keesler AFB. Three months after moving into our new house we had to move again due to unforeseen circumstances. Thankful Amber was able to go to the First Sargent who got a large group of people, along with the Commander, to help her move.

This year ended very sadly for our family with the death of our Papa. He had been fighting cancer for the last 18 months. We lost him on December 7, 2013. It has been hard on everyone. Thankfully where we are stationed at now gave us the availability to be here with mama and papa when he passed and able to come back to spend Christmas with mama. Here is to hope that 2014 is a better year for all of us than 2013 was.

This year for Christmas we drove up to Washington to spend it with part of our family. Our Aunt flew my mom and grandparents out. Our cousins in UT drove/flew up and of course our Aunt, Uncle, and other set of cousins that live there.

It was loud, busy, crazy, hectic, and the most wonderful Christmas we have had in a long time. Rory loved playing with all her cousins and poor Seath just didn't care. He wasn't feeling all that great.

When we got back to Vegas we did our own little Christmas seeing as the kids only got Santa gifts, the gifts from the gift exchange, and what their grandma brought out for them.

After opening the gifts we had at home, we had to rush Seath to the hospital. He had a 103.8 fever. They did chest xrays on him. Poor little guy has bronchitis and infections in both ears.

just a quick update on the hubble family

I know that OK has done some post over the last 3 months, but it has been a while. Since March 8, 2012 we have been super busy. Seath is growing like a weed, at his 2month appointment he was just shy of 15lbs. Rory is doing good, she is now in speech therapy twice a week 30mins each time. We are still having a hard time getting her to learn things at home (I hope she grows out of that soon). May 4th we went to Florida for 10 days to see my mom for her birthday. Rory had a blast and keeps asking when we can go back (its going to be a little while before we can go back) and Seath really did not care as long as daddy was carrying him and mommy was close by when he wanted to eat. I will post photos soon (I hope).

Hubble's retrain has been pushed back for ANOTHER year, which means being stuck in Vegas just that much longer. I had my re-inspection today to get my daycare licence back. I had an interview the other day to take on a 3yr old little girl one week a month. I really hope I actually get her, Rory really needs another little one close to her age to play with. I think that is all for now. I will try to post some new photos soon.

Really Rory...

So if you have been keeping up with our posts, you already know that Amber and I have started to watch The Big Bang Theory... I have expressed to Amber that I want to get some shirts that they wear on the show (only for the fact that they bother her). Well, Amber was at Target getting some things and saw a shirt that she "just had to get me". The shirt has a photo of the cast on it along with the word "BAZINGA!". Bazinga is a term that is used by one member of the cast after he makes a joke.

Once again, it's time for a story... Amber has told me many times in the past, "I don't know when you are joking around because you look and sound serious". So after watching this great show, I thought it may help her out a lot if I used "Bazinga!" to let her know it was all just a joke. Now that I do that, Amber catches my jokes more.
For example (over text):
Me: "What I need, you can't give me...So I guess I have to go elsewhere to get it"
Amber: "WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT!"
Me: "Sleep"
Me: "Bazinga!"
Amber: "LOL"

Now the big problem that we have in the house is the fact that Rory can not stand me saying it to Amber. Everytime I say it, she will walk up to me with a mad face and say, "you no tell mommy that". So here is a picture of Rory and my new shirt... (make sure to read under the photo)

We asked Rory if she likes daddy's new shirt...in response she told us NO. when we asked her what she did not like about it she pointed out the word "Bazinga". She is way too happy to dislike a shirt this much.
